Letizia Pallozzi: I phoned Matt due to come by to fix a refrigerator that was blowing hot air through both the freezer & the main compartment. He was very responsive, communicative, and showed up at the time he said he would which was very appreciated. After examining the back of the fridge, he determined the issue could be what amounts to a starter relay / capacitor piece needing to get replaced. He said that the cost was $329 for the job; at that point I wasn't entirely sure how long it would take and what materials he would be using/needing. I'm not a handyman/engineer and needed a functioning fridge so said OK. The work was completed in 30 minutes or less & looked stupidly simple to resolve. After Matt left, I started looking up the piece that was used online and realized it costs less than $50. I was ultimately charged $200+ as a labor cost... which even with a "rush" same-day service is steep. So my review is really to state that yes you will get a job done & done well - but I feel a bit ripped off at a rate that takes advantage of people who may not know better. Response: Maybe I made the job look simple because I have been doing it for over 20 years. Maybe I had the part (More than $50 actually $76 plus tax and Sameday svc $129 + Labor $200 = $329 job) in my bag because I have done over a 1000 of the same job with no complaints and I could diagnosis it before I came to the house. I know other guys are out there charging even more for the same job. I used to be that guy. Now I have my own business and I am able to lower the cost since I make more than the 30% I used to make working for someone else, and even when I think I'm doing a good thing for the community I realize I can't please everyone. Glad your fridge is working now and was repaired professionally sameday.

Stef P: The service of flamingo has gone down the drain ever since the pandemic. I’ve never had a problem until the past two times I needed service, whether it is a part that was incorrectly ordered whether was not giving a person a confirmation of an appointment or forgetting that the part was even in the work van 30 minutes prior to the appointment. It’s unacceptable - and for KitchenAid and whirlpool appliance fixes there has to be another vendor out there that can supply better service.
Response: We are very sorry to hear you had a poor experienced especially using our company in the past with no issues. We take this very seriously. Granted we have had challenges with the pandemic like many companies have however that should not change he level of service we provide our valued customers. We have standard operating procedures in regards to ordering correct parts, sending appointment confirmations, & assuring parts are in the van for the technician. I was not able to pull your service history by your posted name. I would kindly ask if you can contact us so we can further look into the service history and assure all was done properly or take corrective steps to improve any areas that might have fell short for you. Mike Harden: We purchased a new Whirlpool Refrigerator less than a week ago. The seal between the fridge side and freezer side are different thicknesses causes one door to be different than the other. Hope Depot suggested we call Whirlpool, which I did. Whirlpool scheduled a technician for today (6/17). The technician came in the door with a major attitude. Shaking his head no almost immediately. I can't fix that. It's Home Depot's problem. He was rude to my wife. He left abruptly without doing anything. I specifically told the service rep on the phone what the problem was. The technician did not want to be there. Maybe he has too many stops to make. He said, "Well at least is staying cold." We spent $1800 and we got a working refrigerator but it doesn't look too good from the outside. Home Depot and Whirlpool have done nothing but pointed fingers at each other. Neither accepting any blame. So unless I want to yell at somebody, I'm finished. My wife and I have accepted defeat. Home Depot appliance buyers, beware. Forgot to mention the rude technician is from a Whirlpool contractor called Flamingo. Service: Refrigerator repair

Kyle F: Plz fix you call back service!! I called the 1st time and received a call back, answered and was immediately disconnected. Called again and requested another call back and no one called again. I am familiar with virtual call back services and the stats provided and someone should be reviewing the success rate for your call backs and addressing the issue, which is either a system issue or agent disconnecting the call because I completed the call back enrollment steps twice. Response: Hello. I am sorry to hear you had to go through our call back feature twice. We do monitor the stats and any failures reported. It is a great feature that assures a call back and you can hold your place in line. It is easy to use and prevents our valued customers from holding on the phone.

Chef Jasmin Nathan: I am disgusted with how my situation was treated by both Flamingo AND Whirlpool despite my oven being only 7 months old and under warranty. Long story short, faulty appliance on Whirlpool's end, my oven glass randomly shattered into a million pieces. Flamingo (who was contracted by Whirlpool to fix it), made it even worse. They constantly rescheduled my appointment just to finally arrive WITH THE WRONG GLASS. It took them 2 weeks before they returned and "fixed" my glass. Before they arrived, I continuously asked for a replacement of the entire door (as the door was covered in shards of glass and the pieces of glass are still trickling out of it to this day), Flamingo refused and was only willing to replace the glass that shattered (which does me no good). Did Flamingo replace the glass? yes. But was this matter handled correctly and in a manner that would cause me to recommend Flamingo to anyone else? Absolutely not! Flamingo should have replaced my door and prioritized my appointment. So, thanks for nothing. I'm not happy with any part of the way this was handled. I have a similar review to offer for Whirlpool as a manufacturer, but Flamingo is not faultless in this. (these are pictures of the shattered oven which shows exactly why I wanted Flamingo to replace the entire door). Services: Stove, cooktop & oven repair , Oven repair

If the repair can be completed by a glass replacement, then a door replacement would not have been approved by Whirlpool. Door orders can also take approximately 3 months since they are made per order. With proper removal of broken glass, the new glass can be installed successfully. Our dispatch department does prioritize all appointments by first come first service or anyone with a safety concern. Due to the nature of the current times, we have experienced availability and part delays. We hope your oven is in working order. However, please feel free to reach out to us if there is anything we can further assist you with.

james falls: I have been without a cooktop for about 2 weeks now due to the part delay from Whirlpool. I had an appointment scheduled, they called that day to reschedule, due to them not receiving the part from Whirlpool, for a day the following week. That day comes so I decided to call early in the morning to verify that they are still coming and was informed that I wasn't on the schedule for today but they did see one for a later date. I explained how I was contacted before and had one scheduled for today, representative said I do see the appointment for today was cancelled because we didn't receive the part until later in the day yesterday and didn't have time to get the part to the tech in time but an appointment was rescheduled for this date. I asked why wasn't I called or notified of this change as I'm not available for the rescheduled date. They mentioned an email system generated and sent yesterday, never received the email. Proper customer service would have been to make the call and speak with me.

We are at the mercy of the manufacturer regarding part availability. It is correct that we do send an email if part does not arrive the day before service is scheduled. However, we also do contact our customers with a phone call as well. I will personally look into your service history to confirm the proper protocol was done. Our customers time is very valuable and always want to be sure we are notifying our customers of any status properly. Thank you

Christine Piehl: We unfortunately bought a Maytag washer at Home Depot during March 2022, it was delivered in April 2022 and has been broken since the beginning of June 2022. I called Hope Depot immediately, made a service appt and it got cancelled by the tech on the same day but no one told me. While I waited here for no one, I called to complain and then they told me Flamingo would be here on 6/14. I called Flamingo on 6/13 and spoke to Max to report that I am worried because I need that appointment since I can’t do laundry and have received no robocall. She assured me I was confirming the appointment by calling her. The next day the tech never came. I called Flamingo again, spoke to Martha who advised that their tech cancelled the appointment because they inputted my phone number off by a digit and he could not reach me to tell me he is nearby. She offered me an appointment a week out with no consideration that it had been over two weeks that I could not do laundry. My next appointment was for 6/22, confirmed all my data by text. Buying this Maytag has been a nightmare- it skips cycles, it leaked blue liquid on my floor, sometimes it does not even start and then they force me to deal with this unpredictable Flamingo company that has no consideration of me missing work for their bogus appointments. I never have issues with my Bosch appliances, and this serves to assure I never again deviate. 6/29/22 - when they finally sent a tech, Chris, last week, he could not resolve my problem but assured me that he personally would be back to my house on 6/30/22 either in the morning or evening to finally fix this ( 4 weeks after it broke) and that we would touch base the day before to let me know the time. He explained to me that the company prioritizes people with broken refrigerators, but he would be here- not sure why Maytag subcontracts a company that doesn’t prioritize their customers, but I texted him on 6/29 at 11:02 am and after 5 PM he wrote me he is not coming, does not know who or when they are coming. I asked for the name of someone who could assist me further and got no response. No one picks up on their line, I was on hold for an unreasonable time.This is the worst. We are making payments for a Maytag that we cannot use and Maytag subcontracts this company that just flakes on their word and keeps us waiting week after week.

William Newcomb: The door on my JennAir oven won't stay closed so I called JennAir for service. JennAir referred me to Flamingo. Flamingo sent out a tech within a few days to diagnose the problem. Tech said he needed to order parts and I'd need to pay half of the $550 invoice for the work before he could order the parts. I paid the $275 and he scheduled the repair appointment for a week later. I received a voicemail from Flamingo on the Friday before my Tuesday appointment telling me it hadn't yet received the parts and would call me at a later date to reschedule. I called this morning to find out when the parts would arrive and was told hopefully tomorrow or the next day. I asked to go ahead and reschedule my appointment but was told they couldn't schedule my appointment for several more weeks. Bottom line: Flamingo had no problem coming to my home within a few days of me first calling and taking my money without doing the repairs, but clearly put other people first (presumably people from whom they can collect more money) now that I've paid. Will edit this review if Flamingo can make time to complete what should be a simple repair sooner than mid-July, as the tech was professional and polite. Service: Stove, cooktop & oven repair

H T: Called to fix a leaking LG Washing machine on a Saturday afternoon. Extremely knowledgeable, very direct and professional. Fixed and tested the machine while informing the cause of the issue and how to prevent it - recommend and is the only person that we would call if need repairs again. Price was fair.

Jose Siman: I recently repaired a GE refrigerator and was helped by Rolando G. The pros: 1. He seemed to know what he was doing. 2. So far, the refrigerator has been repaired. 3. So far, I have no complains about the quality of the job done. The cons: 1. He takes a while to respond and he does not use Whatsapp; prefers regular SMS for sending text and images. 2. He was late for the appointment. 3. He changed one sensor (which I did not see) and one metal tray. He defrosted the refrigerator and fixed a problem with the ventilator on the freezer that was making some noice. He performed some tests on the refrigerator. For this, he charged $425.00 which I found expensive. 4. Invoice was not detailed as to the cost of parts and labor. Harold Schenker: My mother's high-end LG refrigerator/freezer failed during a major power outage on Palm Island. LG offered no direct repairs, but recommended A Gonzalez as an authorized LG repair company in her Miami Beach area. With a single call, an appointment was set, documentation was examined and I was told what parts were covered under warranty and how much the entire service would cost for a couple of scenarios. Emails and texts kept me informed at each stage, a complex replacement of compressor and other components was efficiently handled (and all needed parts were in truck when it arrived), with the unit completely operational and work-area clean at departure (all at the cost earlier provided). Invisible Bike: I have contacted Glyn's service many times over the years and could always count on them to find the solution and give me a fair price. It's a company that I have found I can trust and really has the knowledge to make excellent repairs. Recently, I was having trouble with my Maytag washing machine which I bought and was under warranty for a year and then extended warranty. This machine was such a problem as the computer panel wasn't set up correctly and had to be replaced the first year. The replacement was constantly not working properly. The extended warranty would have been so expensive I could have bought a new machine. Finally, the panel died completely last week. That was enough for me. I called Glyn's and they helped me to locate a new Whirlpool machine. They went out of their way to find me a replacement machine. That's the kind of company you want to work with. They care about their customers.

Marco Magistri: My kitchen range stopped working. The technician arrived on time and by simply moving the range he could identify the issue: the power cord and the power block needed to be replaced. Cost of material $40. He gave me a quote of $320 (just for the labor) to proceed with the repair!!! I ended up paying the $85 inspection fees and I declined the service. MNP: I need to schedule repair of a vacuum cleaner I purchased 2 years ago and it is impossible to schedule an appointment with the local Sears store. I have called the numerous phone numbers six times and end up speaking to an offshore rep who gives me the same numbers. Feels like a dog chasing my tail. I will attempt to make a visit to the store tomorrow with the vacuum cleaner in hopes of finding a human being who can assist me with the repair.

Robin Steiner: The repairman was nice and the repair was professionally conducted. But, one of the two problems he came to address (the fact that the dishwasher opened by itself after each wash) wasn't addressed. The repairman didn't believe us; he thought we must have loaded the dishwasher too full or done something else wrong. Later, he texted to say that he thought it was some setting we had it on. But, no information about how to take it off that setting. When I videotaped the problem happening (by running an empty cycle and filming the dishwasher) and texted it to him, he didn't respond. I am at least glad I didn't sign up for the 'Sears Home Warrantee' so I am not stuck calling Sears next time an appliance has problems. Service: Dishwasher repair

Hector Mesa: The technician spent over an hour running the dish-washing cycles, and eventually said that it looked like the thermostat wasn't working and would need to be replaced. Cost would be about $500. A new machine costs about $650 or $700. Or.... Sears sells a protection plan for $49 a month for various appliances, and after a month the dishwasher would be covered and I could call for service then. Or live with the problem. He sent the link to sign up, and I discovered that it's a 12-month plan, and if you get a repair and try to cancel, they will basically charge you for the repair cost and then you can cancel. (This was all in the fine print of course). After he left, I did found a YouTube video explaining what to do if the heater stopped working. I found a video explaining how to change out the flood switch, ordered the part on Amazon for $25, and today we re-watched the video and set to work. For an investment of some time and $25 (as well as $95 for the "diagnostic" visit), the heater in the dishwasher now works the way it used to. A repair for $500? Why couldn't he have simply done the repair and charged for the part and labor, instead of trying to sell me a $600 protection plan? Lesson learned. Look for a YouTube video and do the repairs ourselves.

Gustavo R Benejam: Making an appointment was cumbersome. Then we were given a window of time arrival of a full day! Worse, they called at the end of the day before the set appointment to inform that they would not be able to come on the next day, as agreed. What a joke. Called Marvel Appliances and they agreed to come (providing a more reasonable window for arrival time), came on time, and were very professional ( highly recommend Marvel Appliance Repair). Now, Sears is calling non-stop to reschedule. Are you kidding me???!!!

Alen Mustac: Set up a diagnostic check up for a dishwasher that wasn't washing well, fee $59 confirmed time and service. Furthermore, Sears sent me an email outlining appointment etc. I wasn't there for service but an associate, service performed not what I ordered, but a 3 point inspection for$100. The technician decided to what he wanted and make it worth his while and charge almost double. Nos this is the good part try to get your money back for unauthorized work performed. It's like you we g in for an oil change but the brakes were replaced. Even though I have all the documentation I need to disputed with a different department.

Jay Seaess: I live with two people who are at high risk for Covid. We are reluctant to allow anyone into our home due to health and safety concerns. Refrigerator was slowly dying. Scheduled a late morning appointment. My situation changed and they adapted quickly. Jean called ahead and said he could be here in 30 minutes. (was more like 20). Had his own KN95 mask and gloves. Diagnosed the problem in 2 minutes, repaired it in 10 more. Jean was in and out in 20 minutes. He even wiped down the surfaces he touched. Serge Lubensky: We have used the company on multiple occasions with great success. I don't know much about home appliances, so when our freezer stopped working properly, I was in a panic mode. These guys responded quickly and a technician came in in less than two hours, diagnosed the issue, explained it to me in much detail, and quoted a very fair price for a fix. After completing the repair, he (I think his name was Stanley) also recommended changing a filter for the ice maker and showed me where to order it. Second time, a different technician quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem with our washing machine. The company obviously has integrity and very high standards in hiring technicians. Very rare in the industry. I can't recommend them more enthusiastically.

Viktoria: The Tech was very professional and fixed the problem right away. However, the scheduling was a mess! My washer is under HD PP. Home Depot told me they would schedule me for Thursday (I called on Monday), and that the repair service would call to confirm a time. In Tuesday, I received a voicemail that Tech would be there in 45 min. Of course, I missed the Tech and now my repair shows "completed" on updates which I receive via text. I called the office and was told they had no idea what happened and to disregard message. They said they will reschedule me for Thursday and call me with a time in Wednesday. On Wednesday, I received a VM giving me a window if 11:00 am - 3:00 pm. At 2:30, I call the office for an update and was advised by Cathryn that the Tech might be running late but I am still on the schedule. I asked her if she could call the Tech and find out and call me back. She said she would but never called me back. At 3:15, I call again and was advised that Tech should be there in 30 min and she will call if anything changes. At 4:00 pm I get a call from the Tech saying he'll be there shortly. Tech did eventually arrive and was able to fix problem. The customer service needs major improvement as to keeping customers updated and returning calls as promised. If Customer Service would have been more professional, I would've given 5 stars.

Lis: It seems this is not a set company. It contracts out to other companies. Had used them to repair my fridge 3 months ago. Was given a 90 day warranty and 20 days after warranty the piece broke. I had a tech come out to see and claimed I had never used them, which I thought was weird because they had all my information when I called for the appointment. He also stated it was weird I was given 90 days warranty when it's a year with his company. Turns out I've had two different companies come out, and I have to pay full price for everything again. Pay attention to the invoice and the techs you deal with so in case something like this happens to you, you call that company that came out. On the day of the appointment, I received the call from the technician stating that he will be arriving in 25 min, he actually arrived an hour and 35 min later, stayed for 5 min to tell me that my ice maker had no refrigerant (I am no technician and that was my diagnosis when I called to make the appointment) then he said: someone will email you later today with an estimate for the repair. That was Saturday morning, today is Monday evening and I am still waiting for that email. Here I am, stuck with a charge of $75 for a late 5 min visit to tell me what I already knew, texting the technician, begging for that email, no service, and frustrated. I hope that future customers read this review and make an informed decision before doing business.

LAURA PITALUGA: Do Not Use this company!! The owner is so rude, always in terrible mood and had no manners. I never write negative reviews but this time I was forced to because I would hate for someone else to go what I went through. My fridge broke in December and this guy came in with another lovely lady and tried to fix it. They both work together and she seemed to know more than him since she was the one saying what was wrong etc… the whole Thing seems weird but I was desperate to have my fridge working since the holidays were approaching. He was sent by AHS so he was supposed to fix my dishwasher too. Long story short he said that he needed to order pieces and left. Weeks passed by and he kept saying that he was waiting on the pieces. After a month of my following up at the end of January he said he had the piece for the fridge but not the dishwasher and that he couldn’t make two trips so I had to keep waiting . On the mid time I had to call him 10 times to get a reply and use different numbers because he wouldn’t reply to my number. He was so rude every single time I can’t even explain how rude this person was. I was forced to put pressure with the insurance And ask for a new company that’s when he decided to answer the phone and reply with Monday: meaning he was finally coming Monday to fix the fridge. As you can see on the texts below he never come, I took the day off from work and he never came or called or text to let me know that wasn’t coming. This was such a nightmare I don’t wish it on anyone. He ended up coming another day to fix the fridge and at this point on February 23rd he hasn’t come back to fix the dishwasher and simply stopped responding to my texts and calls. John Gardiner: Eddy and his assistant came the day after I called in the issue to fix my fridge and replaced thermostat, then found out that it was the control panel. He replaced that and aid it would cool in 24h. He called that night to check and it had not cooled so he returned the next morning and changed a part connected to the compressor, and it worked. Jeff Rudman: I cannot speak enough about Eddie. We had a very complicated issue with our fridge and after troubleshooting every possible option, ordering a few parts and no matter how much time he lost in doing it, he nailed it. I now have a new fridge, freezer and microwave again thanks to Eddie and Appliance & Service Depot, Inc. Hard to find people with integrity and loyalty. He is definitely my go to guy for any of my appliance repairs. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!

Caroll Eleazard: First and foremost this guy Eddie is NOT a plumber. His number came up from a referral from Home Depot where I purchased a french door refrigerator and needed it installed. This guy is more concerned about telling you something is not free instead of learning how to run a business. He did not even tell me he charges for an estimate but had the gall to tell me after he was at my house not even 20 minutes that I needed a plumber then charged me $75. I mean let people know that if you cannot do the job they will be charged anyway. I don’t mind paying for needed services but this person needs to learn how to treat customers.

ed fue: Horrible service. Eddie is a scammer. Very unprofessional and unethical. Tries selling you services you dont need. And tells you that you need to replace parts that are working perfect in order to charge you more. Showed up at my house for a warranty job, with a horrible attitude, and he tells me that I need to change this part, and this other part, and give maintenance, so on and so on. And that the warranty does not cover any of that. What!!! Thats why you have warranty. Since he came across as unethical, and kept giving me the run around everytime I asked him a question, I told him to leave and he gets all mad and rude. Called warranty company. They sent out other company, super professional, knowledgeable, and efficient!! Had my appliance fixed quickly and correctly. Not even the part that this scammer was saying was causing the problem. Melissa Marquez: If I could give this company zero stars, I totally would. We first started using them almost 10 years ago when we first acquired our condo, although many times their service wasn’t timely or the prices right. Nevertheless, we continued to trust their help and were too lazy to find someone better. They must have serviced us 10-15 times during the years without any major issue. Fast forward to now, having recently moved to another condo and undergoing the current situation of COVID-19 like everyone else. We are now renting, not owning, and called in last Friday because of an issue with our washer/dryer. We scheduled an appointment for the next available date, which later had to be postponed for lack of reply from our landlord as per our rental contract (with more than 24 hours notice to the company). We then later had to cancel the appointment altogether since our landlord did not approve of the company, unfortunately, and asked us to use another - which we did cancel verbally with Dade App as soon as we heard. That same day, our dryer blew out and flooded our apartment, at which point we decided to pay for the repair ourselves and called the company back, with a clear sense of urgency given the water running through our floor. Not only did they DENY servicing our unit, but the administrative representative, Susie, proceeded to call us back 5 more times (leaving 2 voicemails as well) to let us know how they would not be providing us services EVER again. I am not only very surprised from their denial of service, especially with a clear emergency and during a freaking pandemic, but frankly appalled and deeply bothered by the amount of phone calls we received and the arguments they kept trying to push down our throats as to why we had to find another company to work with moving forward. Honestly, I wouldn’t dream of recommending this company to anyone else, unless you enjoy subpar service with a side of harassment.

He said this $45 charge was at a 50% discount because they normally charge $90. The worst part? He had been here just a week prior to fix my entire AC unit. SO HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS COMING HERE TO DO. As it was specified to him the panel read LO. Terrible customer service, terrible communication skills. And have been waiting for this day, since our washing machine doesn’t work. And on the day of the appointment the girl from the office called and said “oh, I’m sorry, I just noticed we don’t have parts for the machine of this brand “Bosch” and we don’t work with this brand anymore, so we can’t help you. Seriously?!?!and you tell me know?week after on the day of actual appointment?! This is unacceptable service. You should check and call on the next day, so people won’t wait for a week to hear that you don’t work with brand/don’t have part etc. I don’t recommend this business anyone, because simply you can’t rely on their service!!! Update: After my review, the company contacted me and offered a different solution - they sent a subcontractor. The technician arrived by the end of the day and inspected our washer. He was knowledgeable and polite. Unfortunately, our washer is too expensive to fix, better to buy a new one. I’m changing my review to 4 stars, since the situation was resolved by the company on the same day. I am now able to recommend this company, my only advice - ask all the necessary questions beforehand and make sure that they work with your brand of the machine.

My first experience with Starchenko was just prior to the holidays for a Dryer and Oven repair in my condo unit. Their Technician was on time, polite, and presentable, and worked safely, wearing a clean new mask at all times. He efficiently and quietly identified the problems, charged me a single, fairly priced diagnostic estimation fee (for 2 appliances), and explained the estimate clearly in full detail, down to each part and its purpose in the repair. I asked them to complete the repairs and, as promised, they credited the full diagnostic fee towards my repair cost. They ordered parts and returned the following week fully prepared to complete the repairs, which they did efficiently and without making a mess -- in fact, SUPER CLEAN! More recently, I had a leak coming from my washing machine -- a leaking drain hose assembly which causing a number of other parts to rust. They laid out my options: 1. Replace the hose assembly ~$200, leaving some rusted parts 2. Buy more parts to replace all the rust and incur significantly more labor to take a chance on a 12yr old washer 3. Stop the bleeding and buy a new washer. Rather than talk me into spending more money, they recommended buying a new machine, and with no incentive to them, helped me make a sensible and solid choice on a new machine purchase. I can't say enough good things about Starchenko Appliance Repair and would not hesitate in the least in recommending them to anyone who needs their services. Truly, top class!
