MDC Wolfson Bookstore: what do users think?

Nicanor Ramos Ullola: Customer service. And presentation. When I went in, the first time, I was very lost, bought some stuff… but especially I was upset about the area. Then, I can back a second time and felt insulted… I was asked to take a picture that had no barcode on it. The third time, I was given attitude. And had to constantly wait for a task that could have been achieved, with ease, if the service had be with a proper greeting. Proper. Fix your signs! Also, the male representative. Opened my mail in front of me.

Olga Bub: It was my first semester at this college, so I didn't think that later on I would have to collect evidence in order for them to take the rented books back. They gave me originally destroyed books and then at the end of the semester refused to accept them back, claiming that I took them in excellent condition, although this is not the case. Thus, they made me pay not only for the rent of books, but also for the purchase of completely destroyed books (once again they gave them to me in this state). Disgusting service. If you are considering buying or renting here as an option, then make sure to video the state of each page at the time you receive the books. Otherwise, they will tell you that you have no proof and will force you to buy it.

Mabell Tyler: I bought a book from here once. it was a good time. i don't remember the music: maybe it was irritating. diverse selection of Staff Picks. area has nice food. i would buy books from here if i lived near here. i think the staff were friendly. it's been a year since i went here. but i don't think a bookstore would change too much.

Kalvin Ledbetter: Very difficult to reach and staff not very knowledgeable about products or procedures. They look for any way to get off the phone with you so they don’t have to do anything. Surprisingly unhelpful to students. I was very unhappy with my many attempts to obtain my books for classes. One week later I still haven’t received my books that I had ordered from Danny the supervisor in the bookstore that should not be working there. I called to try and track the books and was told they couldn’t locate the books and provided a tracking number to call ups. Upon speaking to a representative and finally finding out that he put the wrong address down for the shipment. I’m very discouraged by the unprofessional behavior of this staff and they aren’t even staff of MDC and use that to continue to do poorly. They need revised by MDC. This is unacceptable and discouraging for new and future students.

April Mendoza: This bookstore is the best! They have a wide selection of books which is impressive. Great atmosphere and super friendly and knowledgeable staff. I love going up to the staff and asking their opinions about novels I am thinking about picking up because they always seem to have the best suggestions. My go to place for some quiet time and a good read.

Robert Perez: I don’t get why it’s so hard to send purchased items to the correct address. 3 semesters in a row at least one of my access codes were shipped elsewhere. I received others packages and had to reach out to them personally to make sure they got their codes. Reached out to the email provided and they’ve yet to get back to and it’s been 2 weeks. I called and no one knows anything. Pathetic and Unacceptable. Figure it out

Joseth Byfield: Well, I love to read especially about history and both the World Wars. Since I cannot afford to purchase all the books on the subject I go there to read them. So far they allow me to do so without complaining. They are very gracious about it too.

Vubur: Price - Everything is overpriced. Service- Store is inadequately staffed resulting in long lines and overall poor customer service. Quality- The quality of the products offered is average, but for the price below average. Higher prices for average quality products with no perks. Online- If you place an order online they take between one to two weeks to fulfill the order. Although, the items are right inside the store and you could just walk in and buy them. Overall- With everything taken into consideration, avoid this store, only but what you must.

Alberto Wilson: Really nice store with lots of book varieties for a reader like me. I would recommend other readers for sure. Staff is helpful and friendly too.

Nick Greenquist: Not a real bookstore (or maybe bc Covid). Only textbooks for college students. Fewer normal books than a Publix

The Bookshop: what do users think?

Monty Langford: I was in Miami for a business trip, and was introduced to The Book Shop by a mutual friend of the owner. The moment I stepped into the space, I fell in love with it. Its size is small and its presence is welcoming, like a familiar friend, yet it is quite alluring. But don’t let the size of The Book Shop fool you, it’s also home to a publishing powerhouse. Owner, Tabitha Rose, has published books for award-winning authors and little-authors, alike. She makes everyone feel like they are on top of the world—like every one of your dreams is within grasp, if you only extend your arm and reach. I felt very fortunate to have visited during a few book releases / author talks, where I met some lovely authors who signed my book with wonderful personal messages, which I’ll treasure. In The Book Shop, there are also a number of classical books available, and other smalls; such as essential oils, crystals, and sage. Be sure to follow them on social media to learn about some of the events they run like kids’ days, tea socials, workshops, spiritual circles, and more. 10/10 experience!
Response: We are so grateful for you!

James Casey: I LOVE THIS PLACE! This is an incredible bookstore and made me wish that I lived in the neighborhood. The selection of books is fantastic and the blind date with a book is my absolute favorite. Such wonderful, kind, and helpful staff. The owner, Tabitha Rose,is so wonderful and has such a beautiful spirit Thank you "The bookshop" for an incredible experience!

Gina Zik: Thank you for this gem of a place. Sadly, bookstores have become as rare as Betamax . So when you come across a shop as wonderful as "The Bookshop" - treasure it. "The Bookshop" offers a broad and varied selection of titles. Whatever the subject..fiction, non, poetry, photo books...They've got it covered. This is the kind of shop you can sit and linger in, and their knowledgeable staff doesn't mind a bit. The manager Jessica is amazing, it is a real pleasure to have a conversation with her. Great book signings here. Nice events schedule. "The bookshop" is in a highly walkable, cool part of town... Have brunch, buy a book, make a day of it. It is is a special and magical place. Can't wait to get back in the very near future!

Quitting Kratom: This beautiful gem is hidden away in the adorable city of Buena Vista within Miami. Tabitha Rose is an incredible human that aims to find local authors with an impactful story to tell. I am absolutely obsessed with this bookshop and all the hard work that goes into making this space a reality. I would recommend stopping by to anyone in the area, whether you're visiting or live nearby - you wont be disappointed!
Response: Thank you! We love and appreciate your presence in our community

Fernanda Ramos: I love this bookstore! They have such a good variety of books, gifts for all tastes and they also promote very fun events. The staff was super helpful assisting me, specially Jess. Overall it is a great place to check it out, I will be back!

Jessica Rachel: This is my all-time favorite bookshop! Located off NE 2nd ave just a few minutes from the beach, I absolutely love coming here and browsing allthe beautiful books, candles and journals. This is my favorite shop to support and I always look forward to stopping by! Hope to see you there ❤️

Alyssa Pivarnick: A true gem of a shop with an eclectic selection, great ambiance, and always smells so good. Such a cozy, feel-good space. Their newest consultant, Jess, is amazing. She is a perfect addition.

Jay Ray: The coziest, most precious bookstore I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. I recently moved to the neighborhood and I’m so glad I stumbled upon this amazing shop. So many good finds and just the most exquisite space. This will be my weekly hangout as Tabi and Jess are a pleasure to be around!

Teo Montoya: Life to Paper is an extraordinary bookstore because it’s purpose is to invoke the creative process of writing and enrich the world with storytelling. The bookstore is spacious and inviting and makes you feel like sitting, reading and even pondering the story within. There is a subtle magic about this place, the magic of imagination becoming reality and the magic of a community of creatives. I find this place to be very uplifting and inspiring. I highly recommend visiting this curious literary haven.

Christian Perez Chavez: The bookshop is a special place. The vision and energy of it's founders is felt as soon as you walk through the door. It's a place of truth, vulnerabilities are bared, and a growing community blossoms within its walls. The writers, artists, and humans roam the space with true freedom of thought and speech. May you find your way here.

Books & Books: what do users think?

Troy Atlantic: Great Bookstore, however they could dedicated more space to books and stock books than the cafe that dominates the bookstore. But all together, that said, still one of the best for art & design books. Also please get some rare fashion periodicals, the fashion students next door could really use them.

Mitch Swergold: What can one say. Such a great place! Mitchell Kaplan runs a phenomenal organization. Excellent book selections, Great speakers (authors), peaceful environments and great food in the cares. This is consistent across all locations. Really a great and much -needed intellectual and cultural element of Miami. I'm a regular at several locations and expect to be for many years to come. Thanks Mitchell!
Response: Mitch, thank you for your kind words and support. They mean the world to us!!

Paul Gormley: Great location for dinner and a show at the Arsht Center but, as expected, a little pricey. Good portions, solid preparation and service, cool venue for a meal.

shawn beightol (allllchemist): Great bartender very helpful. Great place to hang out before show. Prices were reasonable. Very classy clientele.
Response: Thank you for your very kind words. See you soon...

Winston Fletcher: Small Book Shop and Cafe. Personal service. Perfect spot to just chill and share. Good for young adults and mature persons.

Chillbean Gene: Best book selection I've ever seen and the staff is very kind

Sundaram LS: Went there for a coffee evening. Great place in the middle of downtown to sit and relax

Airton Menezes: There are very few options of books. It's more a café than a bookstore
Response: Thank you for your comments. We call the store The Cafe at Books & Books for that very reason. Have a happy new year!

Ronnie M.: Was not very happy with the service but the food was good

Matthew Doyle: Amazing food and great drinks.

Sabeena A.: I love the variety of books and gift items for when you want something valuable for your loved ones. Customer service is great. Latest books available and a cute children’s section.

Lucas Atilano: I have not been to this one but the one on Lincoln Rd (not listed on maps) had very good selection of communist books and none from the people that defeated this disastrous ideology. If they are trying to push this bs ideology I won't give them a cent.

Ursula Hershey: Nicely curated selection of current releases as well as classic titles. Great small business at the airport (I usually frequent Lincoln Road location)

Ma. Valentina Rodríguez: I love this place. Wine. Live Music & Books

Ismael Orozco: Books & Books is closed during the pandemic.

MDC Medical Campus Bookstore: what do users think?

Elena M Russo: I love this campus because of my passion for Healthcare !!!! The chairperson of the Health Science Dept is excellent! Has a heart of gold and always ready to help you! The president of the Campus is also forward looking and kind of heart ! The security guards are fantastic and the rest of the staff and instructors are great ! Can't say enough about all of them ! Definitely the place to be if you are interested in a position or career in health care! ♡

Wandy Robaina: This people are unreal if you get into their web site to get info they will send you later and email threating to send your account to collection if you dont pay an aplication fee is not visible when you sign into the website what an easy way to steal money from the people i not even a student with them i just needed info and went into their web site for it

Gil Marcondes: Like the options and the food is health with fair prices. Just think my burger is a little spicy. But was good.

Best songs ever: Worst college ever! The medical campus is hell. My roommate was on their nursing program, and she was stressing like she was studying to be a medical Doctor. In my opinion they treat students like garbage because it's a community college. I heard their dental hygiene program is also hell, and all this misery for just an associate in science. The professors are disrespectful, and always ready to fail students since there are too many already.

Natalie Basart: Expensive. Over priced. A rip off. Dollar store items marked up 4-5 times their worth. If u can buy it literally anywhere else, do. If it is for uniforms go to blue angels across the street they even add the school logos all for a good price. I bought scrubs on Amazon and took them there, but they also sell scrubs for a good price at blue angels.

George Santana: I almost lost it when Lydia showed me this place! BOOKS GALORE. I felt like a kid in a candy store! Honestly, they must have every book ever published. They sell used and new for great prices! Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful so don't hesitate to ask if you're looking for a specific book!

Richard Alvarez: They are picking up the phone and saying thank you for calling dominoes !... where is the professionalism?? Jesus Christ people. I’m concerned about my education and a student employee is answering the phone playing games, I expect more.

The Benj: Very well run and very friendly staff. Hands down now only from my personal experience but also for mothers you will hear that they are very courteous and very helpful and they do not rush you they take their time with you.

Racquel Raiford: Matthew, I got your book, staff was very helpful! They were waiting with it when I arrived. Just mailed, you'll have it tomorrow. Extremely efficient store!!

Suzanne Davidson: I love this school! You can even get a check up in the wellness clinic and your eyes examined!

TASCHEN Store Miami: what do users think?

Eric Franz: One of the best coffee table books companies with their own store. Excelent for last min gifts or just some beautiful book for yourself.

philippe gabulon: Very beautiful and elegant shop with a great selection of Taschen art books. The shop is simply set with a good selection of rather large art books. You will also find ultra large and luxury books. At the end of the shop, opposit tpo the street side there is also a collectio of art works on display and for sale. The people of the shop are very nice too. We had te books we bought sent to New York for a sensible fee.

Gabby J: Stunning book store, I loved the artistic layout of the space. We were able to get our book signed by the legend himself Cristo. Everyone at the signing was very helpful and welcoming. The event was wonderful!
Response: Glad to hear, Gabby! Many thanks for the positive review. Hope you’ll come visit us again soon!

El Farto: Just lost 1:30hs of my time browsing the stuff inside this store, i wanted to buy everything... the attendants were very nice and answered all my questions, pay attention to the exquisite decor inside.

Jerry Ellis: The most premium bookstore I've ever ventured into hands down. They have quite the unique selection of reads and use super premium materials with the printing and construction materials of their books. Simply remarkable!

Nicholas Redding: Sandra was beyond helpful with us. She was very attentive and super kind. Amazing customer service experience. The store had so much variety and there is definitely a book for everyone. A must visit.

carlos camps: Flagship store of the iconic German publishing company. Taschen is a company with more than 40 years of experience on publishing books that are authentic jewels. The title selection, the cured content and the production transpire quality and attention to the detail. Definitely worth spending time!

Filip Berdek: the only bookstore left in south beach! i love this location and the staff is very helpful. the store manager is always extremely friendly and helpful.

M M: It's simply not possible to walk out without a purchase. Great selection and very helpful staff!

Leifur Björnsson: I’ve visited the store on a few occasions when passing through South Beach for work. The staff is always super friendly and the selection is great. I normally only get a few small things since I can’t really be carrying heavy books around.

Book Horizons: what do users think?

Jorge Costa: Extremely efficient workers and painless checkout @ this bookstore. Unfortunately law books cost a fortune but that has little to do with this place. They do their job and they do it very well. I give four stars and not five because I purchased a book last semester that fell apart on me (as in the book came off the binding). I have a suspicion that it may have been the manufacturers fault because it was an “international edition” but the store could have done a little more to check they’re receiving only the best products. However, I plan to continue going here for the remainder of my years at the U because it is the only place I can get my stuff quicker than Amazon.
Response: Thanks for posting ! If you ever have an issue with a book just let us know and we will do everything we can to make it right! Have a Great semester. Book Horizons, since 1953.

Michael Rosenthal: Amazing customer service in this time of Covid-19. You call them, tell them what books you need, pay over the phone with a credit card, and then arrange a time to pick up your order. They bring it out to your car. They carry books for both UM undergraduates and law students. There is a reason they've been in business since 1953!
Response: Thank you so much for the kinds words! We truly pride ourselves on being a family run bookstore since 1953. Thanks again!

John Hoover: This place actually cares for the students! I am happy to do business here and trust them with all of my law school needs. They know your schedule better than you do and all you have to do is show up. Every university should have a bookstore like this.
Response: Thank you so much! We truly appreciate your business and work everyday to provide fast, personal service. Have a great semester!

Hannah Hays: These are the most helpful people I've ever met! So organized and efficient. It's mostly UM law books and gear but it's still a nice time if you need a legal book.
Response: Thanks so much for the kind words! We truly appreciate our customers and are so proud that we have been serving the community since 1953!

Monkey Fart: This place is lightening-fast and efficient at what they do. Don’t go to the campus bookstore; go to BH instead. Bookstore sold me a book for $240 but BH sold me the same book in near mint condition for $30. Staff is friendly, outgoing, and rewards loyalty.

Wendy Y: Lovely staff here, came forward to offer assistance immediately as I stepped in (out of curiousity) and when I just wanted to browse, they were respectful and left me to it. They also made awesome recommendations for t-shirts (the real reason I stepped in). I left with two lovely mandarin t-shirts that said Miami (迈阿密) 👍

Tiff Ash: Super helpful and friendly family! Definitely recommend trading with them rather than the campus bookstore. I appreciate the individualized help and superior service they provide to their customers!

Solid Reviews: Book horizons is very convenient for you and students

Bill Anthony: Terrific service, been around forever!!!

Jonathan C: I have some used books, could I sell them to you? If yes, what kind of books do you want?

Ga Go: Always a delight to see a bookstore and that not all of them have died out. It is a smalller version of their other bookstores but still offering a variety of books to explore for all ages.

Matt DiNuzzo: Good book store with a wide selection of new books. The displays were organized and had 2 floors. Glad to stop in and get a book for the trip back!

Lorena Be: I love this book store. I always look forward to visiting this store when heading to Coconut Grove. My favorite book store in Miami. Video on location is up on below social media. IG: FoodieFortLauderdale TIKTOK: FoodieFortLauderdale YOUTUBE: FoodieFortLauderdale
Response: Thank you so much for this. We hope to see again soon!!

Ariel W.: Mitchell Kaplan founded Books & Books in 1982 in a 500 sq ft space in Coral Gables when he realized that he loved books more than going to law school. Somehow this independent book seller has managed to stay in business in a time when most books are bought online. One of the ways they have stayed relevant is by hosting over 60 author events every month. You can check their website for the online calendar listing all of the events. Books & Books also sponsors one of my favorite events every November, the Miami Book Fair, where 300 hundred authors converge on the Wolfson Campus of Miami Dade College for a week of one of a kind literary events. The fair was started in 1984 by Miami-Dade College Wolfson Campus President, Eduardo J. Padrón and Mitchell Kaplan in partnership with the Miami library system. Many famous people, artists, athletes, politicians, and celebrities have come to Miami to speak about their books at the fair. It is now the largest literary festival in the country. I was wandering Coconut Grove when I spotted this branch of the Book & Books store. Books & Books has now expanded to seven locations including this one in Coconut Grove that opened in 2019. Unlike ordering online, here you can grab some wine or coffee and light bites from the small cafe while you peruse the books. There is something magical about visiting a bookstore and getting that personal touch like talking to a friendly staff member and asking for a recommendation. It is so great that there is still a place where you can be around other bibliophiles. Bookstores just make me happy. Please consider supporting this wonderful local business that brings so much to our community.

Carolyn Dunbar: I've recently shopped in the store and ordered books online for pickup on porch. Each experience was professional and books arrived quickly. Store staff was friendly, helped me find the books I needed, and made suggestions for further reading. Great store!!!
Response: Thank you for your kind words!!

Christel G: They had the book I was looking for! 🙌🏽 This is a great bookstore. Quaint and comfortable with friendly booksellers ready to give you the lay of the land. Will definitely be back!
Response: Thank you for taking the time to write! We welcome you back...

Edie: It’s a cute book store but I’m not sure what anyone is talking about with food and coffee. I just went in there and the desk person opened the store late so I waited and when she let me in she had no idea what I was talking about and said there’s only ever been a couple of cold drinks… even though there’s a menu ??
Response: Edie, I'm so sorry about coming to our Grove store expecting food and coffee. When we opened two years ago, we did offer that, but during Covid we discontinued it. Our Gables location still has a very active cafe with really good food and desserts, as well as beer and wine and coffee and espresso. I hope you get a chance to check it out. Again, I'm so sorry to have let you down...

Johanna Sensique: Amazing book store many choices and really helpful I really loved going there to find a new book during my vacation
Response: Thank you so much for this!! Hope to see you next time. Happy holidays!!

James Hale: When Magic City life begins feeling too harsh, I plan a trip to The Grove and BOOKS & BOOKS is usually my first stop. This extraordinary bookstore in the City's oldest, most cultured, and friendliest neighborhood is a sublime oasis. Treat yourself and meander a while...
Response: Thank you, James!

Tyrone: This is a super cute bookstore with a really well-curated selection of books. The best part though is their cafe/garden bar where you can grab a drink and study/read, especially if it's a nice afternoon or evening. Super relaxing and chill vibes!

Matt Brown: Really special book store with a wonderful atmosphere, extremely well-curated selection of books and an enthusiastic, well-informed staff. The cafe/garden is lovely as well. A must for any book store enthusiast.
Response: Matt, thank you for your kind words! Looking forward to seeing you in the store...

L Sanchez: This bookstore is a gem for all readers. Exceptional place for all ages. I have gone to many bookstores ,and it’s an in and out situation. The setting outdoor is very inviting . And the ambiance inside is so chill you end up wanting to stay. The staff is so friendly and attentive. I definitely recommend.
Response: Wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to write this. Looking forward to seeing you next time!!

Priscilla Berger: If you're a book worm like me 🤓, being immensed here is like hitting a jackpot! Such a romantic spot!! I could easily spend a whole day here for sure!
Response: Thank you!! We look forward to your next visit.

Personal Account: Hands down the BEST bookstore in Miami. Everyone that works there is thoughtful, patient and passionate about books! The architecture and indoor patio are beautiful. Their bar area is peaceful. And their cafe is yummy. It’s an experience as much as it is a retailer. HIGHLY recommend 😊

Quinton Lawton: Good atmosphere if you love browsing for books or just want a place to hang out. Happy hour is great; highly recommend the hummus as a nice snack. Employees are attentive. Overall just a great place to spend a few hours. I visit at least 2 or 3 times a month and always find something new to keep myself entertained!

Zoë Lawrenson: Super lovely bookstore with knowledgeable and friendly staff. The events they have here are always good and the bar is an added benefit to all venues ;-). Great collection of books. Generally pretty slow service for lunch when I have been but with such a nice setting we didn't mind.

Enrique J. Lopez: Books & Books will always be Books & Books. The true bookstore feeling without the flash that others attempt to incorporate into their bookstore. Quaint, quiet and enjoyable. Pleasant and helpful, but not intrusive staff. Always an enjoyable visit. Excellent location and access. Enjoy!!
Response: Thank you, Enrique! This means a lot to all of us!!

Diana Briceno: Such a cute little bookstore! I found some amazing new reads and enjoyed some coffee in their outdoor area. I wish there were more book stores like this 😍
Response: Thank you for your very kind words!! We hope to see you in the store again soon.

Ana Harthman: This is my favorite spot in all Miami. I go there every week. Ambiance is great because of the great bartender Raul without him the place is not the same, just a book store and not a place that make you feel you are among friends. Great selection of books. Which the spanish section will have more new books. Food is good, not a big menu but always great tasting food. The only problem it is sad that poor Raul has to work out of a cooler and not a working refrigerator, It's been like that for months and the new bar plans it's been in the plans for years! Please help Raul get a better working bar! he deseserves that. He works hard, very attentive and takes good care of his customers. Thanks

MDC Bookstore - North Campus: what do users think?

Henry Hall: Our experience was delightful. The staff was knowledgeable, restrooms were clean. Good experience

KeepItReal Facts: The young lady was very helpful and assisted me with my needs.

lisa Williams: I got a little monetary relief purchased a used book in good condition.

Matthew Lozada: Very friendly and excellent service and people everywhere.

Piero R: Everfresh, Clearfield, Rip it energy, Ritz SodaAre now available here!

Christopher Creevay: This place is horribly mismanaged. I was a this location trying to get books for my daughter. We were waiting in line for almost an hour an a half. The employees handling the book vouchers looked robotic and preoccupied. Several other employees were behind the register talking and joking around with the cashiers. I asked for the manager and was told her name was Cecelia but no one could find her for us. Disgraceful. Staff needs to work on their communication as well as their customer service skills. In the future, I will definitely try to find my daughter's books and supplies elsewhere.1/14/19 UPDATE-I had to return to this bookstore once again for my daughter's books for her new semester and must say I was dreading the experience. However, this time, I was pleasantly surprised at the service we received from a young lady named Stephanie who was friendly and extremely helpful. In the interest of fairness, I have to compliment this employee for going "above and beyond" to help us. Thanks Stephanie! I wanted to tell her manager how professional and helpful Stephanie was but we were still unable to locate her.

JJ The Great: Great customer support and has lots of items.

nodica roselyn: The place is clean. During the begin of a semester, you're going to deal with having to hand over your bags to the employees so you don't still expensive books...I wouldn't blame anyone. To shop here you have to be on top of what I times you want. Also, if you don't like waiting in line find out what times are least crowded. It's all in your hands.

Maria Martinez Carli: I bought a book (used) almost a week ago. I really needed it for my class. I was waiting for the confirmation to picked it up and nothing. I called them, no one answered. I sent email and it was forwarded to someone else and nothing. I went to the store and after 40 minutes I was told that the book was not there and luckily would arrive between Monday and Friday. Employees are polite but couldn't solve my problem. Will end up with two books (the used one whenever arrives and the new one that I had to buy to get into class). Bought it there because I though that I was going to be faster than ebay or Amazon. Don't buying books at this store again.

Melissa Vargas: The place is clean and all, just there's no communication between the employees. If you order a book online be prepared to wait a bit for it. Rush hour in the store has an hour wait in line so prepare yourself mentally for that. It's a nice bookstore, just has its quirks.

Kendall Book Exchange: what do users think?

Lauren Smit: I've only been here twice but already my boyfriend and I are planning our next trip! I'm even convincing some of my friends to bring in books to widen their selection which is already quite large and changing week to week. The owners and volunteers are super kind and helpful. One of the sweetest volunteers (who used to be a librarian) even let me have a look at the books that just came in that they were pricing (very affordably I might add). I am so glad to have found this gem filled with great books, a wide variety of teas and herbs, and friendly staff. I'm looking forward to visiting again this week, next week, and many times in the future!

Dane Luke Wagner: This place was a WONDER and a delight. The idea is that you bring in used books and for every book you bring in, you get half off a book they already have (which are already marked down a good chunk). You don't HAVE to bring in books, but it helps the place keep an inventory. In addition to used books though they have a tea and herbs shop in the front. There you can find anything from sassafras to marshmallow leaf. There are also soaps and oils. The couple that owns this place are incredibly kind and knowledgeable. I STRONGLY recommend checking it out if curious.

elle B: been to this place twice and both times were awesome experiences! the owner and volunteers are incredibly nice and super helpful. i recently brought in a load of books with my family and we got about 100 dollars in credit which is crazy! love the idea of exchanging books so much. planning another trip soon!

Agony305: Talk about a hidden gem. Great staff, great prices and decent selection. Part of the fun is exploring what they have. There's also a tea and serenity section with the bookstore which is a great compliment to the experience.
Response: Thanks! What a nice review. Alway glad when the book store has another happy reader!

Lourdes Mendoza: Excellent experience. Great service! Good selection. Love the initiative, and the Tea selection as well.
Response: Thanks for the great review! We are always trying to make the book store experience better!

Matt Von Zimmerman: Had an enjoyable time browsing their selection of used books and adjacent tea store. The owner has an interesting story and is passionate about her craft. Rewards for first timers and for exchanging books. In turn I have become a regular here.

M. E. Emmanuelle Elie: Found this place 2 days ago, have been back 2 days in a row! A welcoming, carefully craddled treasure West Kendall definitely needed! If you love to read, need fresh eggs, tea or medicinal herbs this is the place! Plus the lady (the owner probably) at the counter is friendly, helpful and respectful. Children can come in and pick books, I personally went with my 7 year old, an avid reader, and he loved it! Tired of Barnes and Nobles? Want classic books? Second hand love? This is the place. We as a community needed this.

Marjo Rkz: What a find!!!! Being a bookworm myself, now a mom of little bookworms I fell absolutely in love with this place. It was so cool to have my little ones get so excited about their new-old book finds- we ended up taking all of their RL Stine books, getting a great discount on top of how amazing the prices already were, and chatting with the owners who were so friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Not only did we get great books, I also got really helpful knowledge from the owners regarding natural and holistic remedies. Oh, and the aromas from their teas, yom- makes you want to curl up in a comfy chair, with a book, and cup of tea. Thank you so much, we had a wonderful time!

Horacio Sierra: The owner is rude, gruff, and painfully monolingual. After a customer asked for some herbs in Spanish and said she couldn’t speak English, the owner called her husband on the phone to translate. After the woman purchased her herbs, the owner commented aloud to the entire store that she didn’t know how anyone could go through life not speaking English. First of all, the customer could have been a tourist. Second of all, this is Miami, where Spanish is widely spoken by Hispanics and non-Hispanics alike. Think of Miami as a Hispanic version of Quebec. No feel-good or New Age vibes are to be found in this store that sells herbs, oils, and roots in addition to used books. It’s a shame. This used to be my go-to for used books. I’ll go elsewhere from now on.
Response: Mr. Sierra, our store has been a staple in this community for over 15 years. I'm sorry you did not enjoy your time in our wonderful store that has provided and given back to this community for many years, which includes our very large Spanish speaking community. We have built wonderful friendships with all of our customers and if you were actually a regular you would see that we treat our customers like family ALWAYS. With that being said - Yes. Since I struggle with Spanish I immediately called my husband to assist. Would you had prefer me not to have done that and assist our customer?? But what you said above is a complete lie. I did not say I don't know how someone could go through life without speaking English. What I said word for word to one of my LONG STANDING customers was it must be hard for her not speaking English at all. I was sympathizing with her! So while you're on here trashing my business, let's try getting the facts straight. Shame on you for insinuating that I was insulting my customer and going online to trash a local, small, family owned business, especially during these difficult times we are seeing. If you had an issue with something you took out of context, why not address it in person? I guess that's just old school mentality.

PTAR: Great place to get your herbs and you read on

Miami Dade College - Kendall Campus Bookstore: what do users think?

Hunter Glenn: It's a dated and kind of depressing store but the store manager, Monica, is very sweet and will try her very best to help you with any of your problems. The rest of the employees lack any customer service personality for the most part. But it's a place on campus where you can pick up a quick snack or drink. They also sell books, novels, art supplies, electronics, candy, office supplies, and MDC branded merchandise.

G . S: Great store books are expensive, but you get EXACTLY! What is needed for class no mistakes staff is great love this book store. Who ever leaves a bad review has no common sense and if they had an issue it's their fault if they had a bad experience. Every time I go I have a great experience yes they are expensive that's no lie, but the staff has been very respectful and have resolved any issues I have had in regards to my course materials. Maybe if you would not be so self centered, and stop blaming people for your mistakes you would realize hey maybe your the problem you have to 🤔 your head isn't only for hair lol.

Joseph Souchak: Most of the products offered are at a priced at a premium but I guess that is to be expected. To me the biggest offense that drives me into a rage if I dwell on it is that they make you put your backpack and large purses into a community locker in the front of the store with no supervision. I honestly would never buy anything to support this store except for the fact that you have absolutely no choice for some of the MDC custom publications. The employees work for peanuts apparently but do a fantastic job in regardless, they're helpful and the store is keep very well. The store is still infamously understaffed on the opening weeks of any semester.

Alice McCall: Missed the mail back date for my rented textbooks by a few days. They could have just refused to help but instead the operations manager, Juan, went above and beyond to help me. Really great people all around!

Stephan Fons: One star because it was required to even write review. Ordered books for summer 3 weeks ago. Haven't received the books, haven't received tracking numbers, can't get a response to emails, and can't get anyone on the phone. Now I have paid out of pocket for my text on top of wasting my book advance funds.

Joseph Wagner: I just started there so far I have had awesome teachers and advisors.. Only thing is there's always a financial aid problem... But other than that all good.

Ángel Ruben Vargas Rodríguez: Miami Dade Community College, Kendall Campus, have the College University atmosphere Campus so College Student or Individuals can continue and achieve their Educations goals, AD, Bachellor, College Educational Certifications, Military & Veterans Programm, VetUpward Programm, GI Bill's Programm. A Great Place to achieve Education dreams.

Yaime Gonzalez Gutierrez: Do I have to give even a star??!! Worse experience with their staff , the mess up the whole time with you and your money. They have no idea of what they are doing. Right now they are making me pay for two same books at the same time even though this their fault ,since they did not cancel the one they did not have !they don't even know their own hours! It's is a nightmare to deal with them!

Ruskaya Ya: Why do you list a phone number if you never pick up???! Have been calling for a week already with 0 success

Quinarra Reddick: They never answer the phone when I call, it goes straight to voicemail.

Red White & Blue Thrift Store: what do users think?

Joseph S.: We need to have a zero star please... Love this place but customer service sucks. Cashiers are rude and Brain dead ,security guard is an abusing black guy thinking he's back in Haiti. The ladies working on the floor be hiding items for their relatives ,there's one lady always hiding stuff for her son. Overall you can definitely find good stuff in here as long as you willing to put up with management and employees out of control attitude.

Faith Temperance: Haven't been to this store since I was a kid. Was looking for a leather jacket for a trip. After 4 thrift stores, this store had a variety of options. I was very surprise how well maintained the store was even though I got there 20 mins before closing. Will def peruse around when I have more time.

Megan B: Store is okay, it’s just so crowded and the customers are rude - plus things can be over priced. They sell tons of fake bags for high dollar, so know your stuff before you enter! I also don’t think their AC works and when people are crowding over everything, it’s a headache.

Adam Lugo: Red white and blue thrift...like the American flag..but quick to call the cops on someone so they can violate his rights...very American. Disgusted by the actions of management and police in the video. this video is going viral

Erik Ramos: Red white and blue thrift...like the American flag..but quick to call the cops on someone so they can violate his rights...very American. Disgusted by the actions of management and police in the video that's going viral. As a society, we have stop patronizing businesses that don't respect the rights of the very customers that keep them afloat. Consider renaming your business and/or finding employees that respect the constitution and the rights Americans are granted by it.

goodboiswag 12: The management profiles fellow Hispanics if their skin is too dark. It's happened often as seen recently in the viral video of a very educated and respectful young dark skinned man. Disgusting.

saby najera: I saw a video of these store workers call the cops and violate a man's rights. It's disgusting.

Francisco Briceno: Best thrift store out there

mohammed bouchnafa: Security gard is abusing the power and act like cop. Typical 3rd world mentality. Wake up we are in America. This guy need to be fired all the time on his phone and Harassing women.

Tony Ed (Tony): Typically, I wouldn't bother with a bad review; However in this case with rudeness and harassment by the staff at this location I would recognize the boycott by all veterans of good conscience.

Barnes & Noble: what do users think?

Eduardo Ulloa: Cool place Luis was very helpful , took 4 books home with me and ordered one .

Ruth Ewing: It is still very refreshing to be able to walk into this B&N as other stores fall away from Sunset Place. The shelves still have an array of choices across genres. And the children's section remains warm and inviting to encourage children to read or have an impromptu reading session.

Daniela RI: I grew up going to this bookstore and spending hours there, and yes I bought books. Recently came in for the first time in a while and was reading a bit. I was told by a polite employee that it is not allowed to sit on the floor except in cafe. Then I noticed they removed all the chairs including by the magazines. I get you want people to pay for the books, but that is just an awful way to treat customers. In a time where I can buy pretty much any book for two thirds of the list price online, I come to bookstores to peruse and help me choose. What are you really gaining from such a short sighted policy? What are you losing? You keep away young readers who maybe can’t afford every book and just want to hang and read, and who will grow to be educated adults who later buy books. Last time I’m stepping foot in that place. I feel terrible for the employees that have to enforce this policy.

Ashley Vaughn: Very clean shop. Unfortunately, the place where it is located is dying. Sunset place looks like a ghost town. Be sure to visit the bookstore to support. If they don't have it, they can order or find at another store. They have most major book categories. They even have a coffee shop. The kids area looks pretty diverse although I had no need to use it.

PharticusMaximus: This is the best book store left. They have a huge Selection of books of every genre. You can sit and read books while you shop. The have a ton of mangas, loads of collectibles, funko pops, card game packs, board games, a big kids area full of books and fun. They also have one of the best magazine racks in town too. If you like books, cards games, and board games, you must visit this awesome bookstore.

Daniel Platts: My family and I are frequent flyers at this B&N. The service is always polite and professional. The store is well maintained and has 2 stories of selections. They recently rearranged some of the sections which was a bit disorienting, but asking an associate led us directly to what we were looking for. It always smells good combination of books and coffee from the Starbucks inside. It's never too busy due to the surrounding mall being basically derelict so the atmosphere is very relaxing. Highly recommend.

Phil Dees: I felt like a ghost surrounded by androids pretentious and with the worst attitude. The employees are letting this place go. I asked about a book, and he/she, fluid, non binary whatever took the cel phone, I thought it was about my questions. But no, it looked at me and asked what I wanted. Too bad, I remember the good ol' days.

PureBidoof: Better selection of books here than ANY OTHER Barnes and Nobles, its just a shame Sunset Place might be on it's last legs.

Lionel Roufosse: Real Book store, well organized, and you could always ask somebody for help if you don't find what you're looking for

Sergio Delfanti: Huge display of books and travel guides. From cooking to philosophy, from science to fiction for kids and for adults , some are real bagains. I always come out with some books or magazines in a B&N bag. But if you are a tourist (like me) take in account weight and volume in your travel luggage ! But enjoying a reading stop at the cafeteria is a plus.

stefi: great bookstore! I love the atmosphere and they sell other wonderful items as well! They had a toy section for younger kids, and best of all was their studio ghibli set up! My friend got this silly cat toy there, 100% worth it!

Earrings Junkie: Friendly employees approached us as soon as we entered and asked if we needed any help. They were very helpful. The store is well laid out. We went on a Sunday and was happy to see so many families exploring reads.

Ana Gomez: I love this place. Very organized, welcoming, employees are very helpful and fast check out.

tyrus plus: A nice, quiet atmosphere where you can read countless books of your choosing without a single care in the world, along with a friendly staff willing to answer all your questions pertaining to their merchandise. If you're a comic book fan like me, then you can rest assured that you can find it in Barnes and Noble. Their graphic novel section is quite expansive and if you somehow do not find what you're looking for, you'll be able to order it, wait a few days, and then be able to pick it up in-store at a time and day of your choosing.

Angie Quintero Pareja: Nice place for reading, buying good books and possibility to stay for have a cup of coffee, brunch or a snack.

Jack Morgue: Good selection of books. You will find most mainstream genres here, in both English and Spanish, as well as miscellaneous toys, tabletop and card game accessories, collectable figures, and even vinyl records. There is a Starbucks inside the store in which guests can relax, enjoy a drink, and read the books they've purchased. Only downside is that products are somewhat overpriced.

Hunter Masi: I love bookstores and Barns & Noble is my favorite one. It’s such a nice vibe to have books everywhere but I wish sometimes my ADD would allow me to truly finish a book for once!

TheRangeSpy: A large book store, but didn’t have the books we were after.

Andrew Moniz: Barnes & Noble is always great. Employees are always helpful, and they have a great selection of books. I just wish there were more of them around.

Roger Castro: I always go to this location about twice a month with my girlfriend she always finds something in the YA section and I only buy manga and omnibus comics exclusively ,location is always clean and workers are always nice and welcoming Something to note always check your book beforehand while browsing the store I noticed a handful of books had either bent covers or ripped backs I know this normal for a chain book store retailer

Books & Books: what do users think?

Maria Paz: Books and books is a beautiful place to pick a book and read it. The little cafe is very well served.

Маtheus A.: The books selection are amazing! They have Gailman, Palanuhik, S. King and many more! Unfortunately, I live in a country with such devalued currency and couldn't afford most books... 😢

M R: Watch Out and READ YOUR RECEIPT !!! "Store Credit Only" SAD!! With all the stress and so-so economy they DO NOT refund you ? I always looked up to BOOKS & BOOKS as an institution in our community, I love the stores and staff just disappointed to find out about the refund policy, in today world where everyone refunds you. Costing mistake for buying a book that we had and did not realized.... Good to see that now Assouline and Taschen have their own stores in Mia Bch, and Amazon off course. Cool stores but no thank you.

Mitra Raheb: Charming little place that brings back a rarely seen time. If you like books, this place is it. What I would recommend is buy a book, walk to Chocalatier, get ur self a Cafe Au Lait and a desert and then start reading your book.
Response: Thank you for this very nice review! Hope to see you again!!

David Granat: What a wonderful selection of diverse books. Great store!

Soeu Marco: Very nice bookstore. Located in Bal Harbour Shops. Located on the 3rd FL. Very hard to find from using google or any maps app. Just take the elevator in the middle of the mall and go to the 3rd floor. It's on the left as soon as you get off. Medium size store. One on one service. Unfortunately if you are not being waited on you can end up waiting a bit. I waited 8-10 minutes for service when one person was in front of me. Both clerks were busing talking. My clerk was very apologetic about my long wait time. I guess it's good if you are the person being waited on. They will be very focused on help you.

Nick: Nice store and staff but realized after I left that their markup is nearly 50% or more. Paid and extra $20-30 more on average per book we bought there compared to the average price in other stores. Would not recommend unless you domt mind spending extra for your books.

Carmen Birt: This bookstore is nice, but if you are interested in sci-fi or fantasy the selection is slim. It seems more geared towards coffee table books and other display pieces.

Lori B: Knowledgeable staff in every location. Love the selection of other gift items in addition to the exceptional selection and display of books. A long time favorite spot from the original in Coral Gables to my neighborhood shop in Bal Harbor!

Jennifer Green: super clean and the sales associates were helpful.
Response: Thank you for your kind words!!
