The Barnacle Historic State Park: what do users think?

David Zohar: A hidden gem? I think so😀 We were looking for a nice place just to relax and find Some peace and quiet from the busy streets of Coconut Grove on a Sunday afternoon. Bingo! This park may be small but it’s absolutely full of amazing features. The grass is super soft and fresh the views of the water brings in fresh air and beautiful sunlight. Volunteers who stand in front are always nice and sweet.

Tool Man: For what it is… and for a minimum $2 per person donation for a self-guided tour (not including the $3 per person guided tour inside the house), this park provides a nice getaway from the populated commercialism of Coconut Grove. It is well worth it for the pleasant, self-paced walk back in time…

Joel Franco: This little state park is filled with history! It’s great to come relax and enjoy views of Biscayne Bay from the oldest house in Miami-Dade but it’s ESPECIALLY great for history buffs. Come learn all about the early days of Coconut Grove and the home’s original owner Commodore Ralph Munroe. I highly recommend getting the $3 tour of the inside of the house. There’s two floors & everything inside is as it originally was back in the late 1800s and 1900s. Btw the only way inside is with a tour guide. Fun fact: you’ll hear about the commodore’s first wife Eva Munroe. Her grave site is nearby! Go visit after. It’s located beside the library across Peacock Park. It’s also the oldest marked gravesite in the county.

Odalys Sage: What an awesome time! We learned so much about the history of Miami and the Monroe family! Get ready to step back in time!

Adrian Lodders: $2 entry per adult. Can pay in cash or QR code via your phone.

Oleta River State Park: what do users think?

Pedro Mata: Great Florida State Park in the middle of civilization. Great for kayaking and mountain biking. It also has a beach area, trails, pavilions, views of the bay, and even several small log cabins. Has ample parking and clean restroom facilities. Nice place for us city folk to get away without going away.

Lenrock: Great park, reasonably priced rentals and an amazing staff. $45 for a tandem kayak and $5 per half hour thereafter. All of the life jackets were brand new and fit well. Oars and boats were also in great condition. Get the kayak and go to the Sandbar its definitely fun to do. Pro Tip: on top of sun screen and water I would highly recommend some insect repellent. The skeeters out there are super aggressive and very hungry, especially if you are as delicious as I am.

elad rothschild: We just love this place! perfect for kayaking, sup etc. Going around with the bicycle (you can also rent there). Bbq, picnic... and of course the white sand beach. a little crowded on weekends and holidays, especially if you plan on a BBQ place. super nice people come here. they charge 6 $ for a car.

Hunter Masi: Very well maintained State Park! It has beautiful views and it’s nice to get some peace and quiet once in a while especially in Miami. I’m not much of a nature person but the views alone make it worth a visit!

S D: Went for a camping trip with a large group of over 70 people. There was only one working bathroom that did not lock and did not have lights. The worst part where the no-see-um insects. We could not sleep the whole night. The next day the bug bites were so bad many of the kids could not go to school. Seems like they do not spray the campgrounds and it is sitting in a swampy area. I definitely will not go camping here again.

Bethany Schwerstein: Booked 2 nights, but could only stay 1 due to the awful bed in the cabin. I understand the idea of “rustic” but the bed was MAYBE 10 inches thick & sunk in the middle so we would constantly fall into it and anytime either of us would move, the bed would creak SO loud that it would wake the other up. We didn’t sleep AT ALL & had body aches all the next day. If you’re planning to stay at this park in the cabins, make sure you bring a memory foam topper or your own inflatable mattress. Pretty pathetic they can’t get a better bed in there. We decided to lose the $75 we paid for the extra night so we could go home to a decent bed.

Kim Kravitz: Beautiful well conserved park where you can enjoy a wonderful day with family. You can take your kayak or rent. We had an Amazing time where we even encounter wild dolphins. Will be back for sure.

Castellow Hammock Preserve & Nature Center: what do users think?

Annalliam Flores: Beautiful nature walk. Bring sneakers, lots of coral, debris and logs to walk over. Lots of butterflies and birds. Benches to sit and enjoy. Clean bathrooms, water fountain. Please remember pick up after visiting

Michael G Wallace: We will be going back on a day that is not raining... but this place was AMAZING even in the rain (caution, you will get muddy). Plus as it was raining no butterflies or hummingbirds were present. Again, still a beautiful place to go and walk to feel like you are in a different world!

Jonathan Perdomo: This place is amazing! I can’t believe I never knew about this trail. It’s a really fun hiking trail.

Waldo Lavaut: A hidden gem in Homestead area. The trail is not paved, but there’s plenty of signs on the trail so unless you go at dark, you shouldn’t get lost. It’s great and fun for kids and adults as well. It would perfect if it would make a circle instead of having to return the same way.

Luis Riverol: Love this park! Great place to escape the chaos without having to drive too far.

Brad Sriro Real Estate Advisor - eXp Realty Miami: Excellent secluded park if you want to get away from the hustle & bustle to enjoy nature for a little. The park is located in Redlands in Southwest Miami-Dade County. As you walk through the park, you will see lots of butterflies and hear lots of birds chirping. The park has a self-guided nature trail that takes you through the many native trees of this 112-acre open space. Be careful on the trail though because it is easy to get lost if you wander off of the path. I would recommend walking it with a partner. At the welcome center, there are some nice displays and you can learn about the history of the park. There is usually a park employee on site during business hours as well. If you like to take pictures, you will find a lot of cool stuff to capture! There is no entrance fee and it also has restrooms onsite. Overall, just a nice place to take in the sights & sounds while enjoying nature.

Leticia Vega: This is a beautiful place to visit. There is a parking lot with plenty of spaces. The park has a nice, well marked trail through a natural Hammock. Flush toilet are located at the start of the trail. The trail is very shady and does not have much of a slope. However, many roots and sharp limestone rocks poke up through the trail, so wear hiking shoes or sneakers and watch your step! The trail is great for kids but I would not bring person that is not sure-footed. The trail is not long but the tree roots and stones make it seem longer. We went with two teenagers and they had a great time. We did not have any issues with mosquitoes or bugs on the trail but we did see several spiders. The trail is 1 person wide for much of the time. We will definitely visit this gem again.

Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park: what do users think?

Maria Andrews: This state park has a very nice beach that’s perfect for small kids, as it’s fairly shallow. Gorgeous views from the fishing side of the park. It has picnic areas, a fishing pier, and even a birding trail. Be warned, April-October, large amounts of sargassum seaweed make it to the shore and can be a bit stinky when it decomposes. As of June 2022, it’s $8 per car for entry.

Ilse Orsel: Beautiful park, close to Miami. You can enjoy walking or cycling here. Bicycles can be rented in the park. The beaches are beautiful. On the beach you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas for a relatively low price. It is cheaper here than on the other beaches near Miami. The beach is flanked by an iconic lighthouse.

Cale O'Day: The park is really quite pretty, but we were clearly not the only people that seemed to think that. There were so many other people there. But most of them were congregated in the west beach, so if you leave there it can be very nice

Jennifer Groff: This park was fun to walk all around on the pathways and trails. Loved all the history and learning about why it was named after someone who was a WWII Veteran and a local man from the area. The lighthouse area was very cool as well even on a day when no tours are available to do. No tours on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Avijit Nayek: Great place to enjoy nature. You take a bath in the ocean, enjoy natural beauty. Here you can get bike rentals too. There are some great eating options. We enjoyed sun set from here.

Jen: Loved this park where it is located near Miami. Enjoyed the day walking around and exploring for the first time and the price for entrance for one person was only $4. Loved all the history and learning why it is called after a man who was a WWII Veteran. He was also a local man from the area to make sure the land was preserved instead turned into more condominiums.

Eric Bellins: Amazing 😉 nature park. So peaceful and relaxing 😎 not busy ever. The park is all shade. They close early so u want to get there before 4pm. They have restrooms 🚽 and staff always on site. There’s two entrances at this park. One ☝️ off the road and another in front of nature center.

Luis Gonzalez: Beautiful enclosed park but the hours are horrible its less than working hours for normal people. To go there you need to have a day off from work.

Aiby P. Florez: Beautiful place to connect to nature and disconnect from the noise and movement of the city🍃🦊🏵🌳

Jorge Sarduy: Nice walk, what happen to. All the big Koi fish?

Alexandra Hirschhofer: It is very nice little park .feels like you walking through woods . very nice pathway and pond and rest area. Its great when you want some peace and quiet!

Pedro Manzanillo: Beautiful park, nice history that I did not know about Miami, and the most important the trees, smell nice like been in a jungle. I love it. I took my seniors class for a field trip, and they love it, specially the employees they are very friendly and knowledgeable.

FIU Nature Preserve: what do users think?

Xander Morales: Small and found a student getti g his drink on. Should have a guard with so many female art students painting plants and some guy drinking on the other side kind of dangerous just saying iam a father . Becareful

Tamara Stone: A lovely very short path in the middle of the FIU campus. A nice stop if in the area. Not worth any travel time to make a special trip. Pay parking available next to park entrance.

Mario Moran: A must-see beautiful place to come and observe and be in touch with nature

Estefania: I love this trail, it’s so peaceful, and there is such a grand variety of plants and trees. FIU it’s time for you to replace the rubber trail for a new rubber trail.

Ali mahdavi mazdeh: It is a very beautiful place. To walk around and feel the nature

China T: The location is tranquil and there are some exercise bars and such. The preserve was once beautiful and large taking about 30 to 40 minute walk, but now FIU took half the preserve, drained the beautiful pond to make way for a foot ball training field. It is not the same anymore. Such a grand place cut in half.

Thousand Hills Trail Head: what do users think?

Christina Crowell: This trail is beautiful and very peaceful. My husband and I, and our dog, are traveling through town from Austin and we needed some nature in our day, so we found this place and we are so very happy with it!! It is beautiful!! The only thing we didn’t prepare for was the ticks...we didn’t have any bug spray or repellent, so we had a tick-picking session with our dog after the hike to the one mike marker and back. So, bring some Off or other type of repellent!!😬After the hike, we went to the Thousand Hills restaurant and it was amazing!! So happy we spent our day here!! We can’t wait to come back to camp! If you like to hammock, the campsites have absolutely perfect places to hang from!! 😃😁✌🏼Enjoy!!

Erik Roehrdanz: This trail is not in Brownsville. I live in brownsville and the only thing where this pin is dropped is homeless encampments… get it together google! Smh 🤦‍♂️

John Pruett: There is a huge beautiful lake with lots of good places to look at it. I liked the drive off the main road that takes you eventually down to the lake. It is one way and there are picnic tables spaced down the road so people are not all bunch up together.

Jeremy B: Excellent bike/hike trail.

a j: Looks awesome......................IT NOT IN FLORIDA let alone in MIAMI

Johnny “jspeed”: Warning this place is not Miami FL. Google displays this when you search for “hiking trails near Miami, FL”.

Ewen Mackenzie: This does not make sense, in Florida it is next to the highway. Please remove

Taylor Watson: A tough trail with steep inclines, rough paths and boggy areas. But the views are totally worth it.

Billy jo Loomis: This needs to be updated as it is NOT in Florida

Claudia Santamaria: I just started going to Kennedy park every week to the volleyball courts 🏐 and I love that is so close to the water, the view in the deck is so beautiful 😍 There’s always parking available in the early afternoon, and their trail is short but cute! From 11am-5pm enjoy a frozen lemonade from the truck in the parking lot 🍋

Christina Cheng: Great park to go for a walk or a jog. Has a nice view of the water from the bridge. There’s also a playground for kids, outdoor gym and exercise stations, 3 beach volleyball courts and a dog park. Plenty of picnic tables and benches for people to use. There’s also a frozen lemonade truck at the parking lot. The only down side is parking is hard to come by on weekends. There is a second parking lot near the sailing club though.

Maafin Paafin: Another great park in Miami. One of the best running paths in Miami. I liked the volleyball group and exercise facility. There is a nice Bay view from the watching deck. You can also bring your dog- your dog can play on the dedicated dog play zone.

Hector Alejandro Perez Quintana: Great for walking your dog, running, meditation, calisthenics workout, sun bathing, beach volleyball, all outdoors and pure fresh air right next to the see

Kel Ruiz: My dog loves this site. Excellent park where your pet will be very happy

Joel Franco: Cool little park in historic Coconut Grove with benches for a meal. Boardwalk views of the water and mangroves are relaxing. There’s also a dog park, playground, volleyball court and several workout equipment throughout.

Burak Öztürk: A wonderful quiet place. And there are a lot of squirrels, if you come here you should definitely bring food for them.

Kat L: This park is a gem. I took a stretch class there on Friday at 4:30pm and really loved it! Great workout with a beautiful view!

Hanan M'barki: One of my favorite Parks in miami. It is located over the bay and do offer some great activities around such a basketball court, tennis courts, playground for kids, dog park. It is also a great area for work out or running as well for picnic.

Chad Knapp: Beautiful park right on Biscayne Bay. Fun to watch the hub of activities on the water and in the park!

Brian: I come to this place often and love energy in this area. Everyone is out there living their best life. It makes you want to do the same. They have a nice dog park where I take my Jack Russell all the time. I can join the yogis they always seem welcoming. I can kick butt at the volleyball court or bball court. The calisthenics area is like a gymnasium. Endless possibilities here. Time to soak up that sun and go hit some dips 😎💪🏽

Manuel Hernandez (Manny): A good albeit small park to walk at a leisurely pace, jog, play tennis, play beach volleyball, or simply sit down and contemplate the bay.

Alice Wainwright Park: what do users think?

Vanessa Christoffel: Such a beautiful park. It is located in the middle of some pretty nice houses yet you find something so simple and elegant as this park. Named after a strong woman leader and advocate for the environment. It is fitting that this park reflects that. Love the playground and has a small bike path. I would not recommend bringing skates or skateboard because of the texture of path. It also has a small fitness area so perfect for a meaning workout with the air of the ocean to bat the heat of workout.

Z K: Great park for a picnic. Quite and has a nice view.Tip: there is cool FREE outdoor work out area with new fitness equipment.

Hassan Ishqi: It has great location. Although the park is currently under renovation and facelift but it’s still open for visitors to enjoy. The sea facing makes this an amazing place walking and running with soothing breeze gently hitting you giving an amazing experience. It has also some equipments installed for exercises for elderly and also swings and slides for kids. The area has a lot of greenery and close to famous Vizcaya gardens.

Christina Cheng: This park is still kind of under construction. There’s a basketball court, a kids playground, some bbq and picnic shelters and a nice walking path along the water. The walking path near the water is made with gravel. It’s worth it to note that there are quite a few homeless people that live in this park near the big picnic shelter. They congregate and sleep there so those picnic spots are usually not useable. They mostly keep to themselves and do not wander into the kids playground though.

Alicia Martinez: Park is under renovation, but the play area and basketball courts are open again. Love the views of the ocean from this park. Parking on the street is limited so get here early. Love coming here to look at the water.❤

Elizabeth Soriano: Love the view of this park but not how they remodeled it. They removed all the trees that provided shade. They also removed a lot of the little huts you could use to have small gatherings. Be prepared to be in the sun or take an umbrella. The parking is also a mission so get there early.

Airweb Digital: Great park with a nice trail next to the Bay!

Marleine Pacilio: Breathtakingly Miami. My favorite retreat when I lived in Miami, and the best dog park you can find. Love that it backs up to a marina. The banyans, the benches, the canopy of green. My happy place.

Brian H Gerber: This park is beautiful, with trees galore, 2 large dog runs and it is on the intracoastal. You can lach your tooi boot. Big winner. And always cool.

Daniel Velez: Good amount of nature and a members only garden. Close to the water near 40th st and perfect for Dog walking!

Casildo Vergara: Very clean park except by the water, kind of polluted with littering empty water bottles and other garbage, very friendly people around,

Carle Betancourt: Medium Size convenient Dog Park. I come to the Dog park with my service dog at least twice/week. Conveniently located, free parking available, free bags to pick up after your dog, multiple water points for your pets. 2 separated areas for animal size (large or small dogs). Sitting benches in the shade. I do recommend this park for people with socially well behaved dogs.

Laywon Monestime: This is a lovely quaint park flowing with wildlife and flourishing trees. Beautiful deck to view the canal and a jogging trail that runs around it. Foe an added bonus, there is a small horse stable for short rides for thr kids and 2 playgrounds. Highly recommend that you check it out.

Patrick Prentice: Some an awesome park! Very cool and creepy forest to go on walks and they have a horse stable with riding lessons! This a great place to have a picnic or take your family pictures. There are lots of picnic tables, grills and a couple of pavilions. It’s a very cool park, check it out 😊👍

Fatt Boy: Beautiful park for a picnic. Also for yoga 🧘‍♀️. You can also take beautiful pictures. Lots of animals to see. Ducks, turtles, horses, fishes, Squirrels and mini pony. A pig, goat, baby bull and Roosters.

Flor Diaz: The name says it all. It is like an enchanted forest in the middle of the city. And they have ponies AND a petting zoo. It is small, but so refreshing and clean. Highly recommended. The only caveat is that parking spaces are limited, but it is a great place to just unwind and maybe (just maybe) see the wee fairies... 😘

Jamie Albucher: I adore this park! It’s a tiny clean little park in the middle of everything in north Miami. They keep up with social distancing rules and even have a community garden! The park ranger Lola is incredibly knowledgeable and happy to give tours. I cannot stress how awesome this hidden gem is

SHARKKARAH HARRISON: So Therapeutic to my soul. SELFCARE DAY 05/07/22

Carlos Garcia: One of the best, most beautiful places in Miami. Very clean, well maintained. I felt secure walking the trails. And the horses? Ah! Beauty of nature!

Wilna Prochet: Great park to wine down, walk and bond with nature. Clean and quiet and lots of trees to bathe your Spirit in. Bring some treats to feed the ducks, turtles and fish.

Rafael Ventura-Rosa: Terrific location for a peaceful visit. Ducks, turtles, horses, chickens, birds...you forget your in a city when you are there. And a Mini library, where you can borrow a book for each one you donate. Now that I am retired, I visit there often. 5 *****

Arch Creek Park: what do users think?

Alex G: Cute small historical park with a small nature center. Federally protected Tequesta native land. Small, cool, intimate nature trail with many different butterfly species. Fun archaeology programs for the kids. Night hike and BYOM (Bring your own Marshmallow) camp fires. A variety of native and non-native animals to see throughout the trails. No dogs allowed though. Not the park with the horses or playground.

Melany Gonsalez: It’s very good park but it had so much spiders but it still was pretty and interesting.

Gema A: Beautiful and quite place. Short trail with a lot of birds and butterflies. The museum is a must see

Aura Lacruz: I like this park, and it was a nice and secluded .i just wish it were larger. the visitors center was nice and informative.

vanessa correa: very nice and quiet

Aaron Leon: Take a walk back in time to Florida before the construction and civilization as you explore trails that are pristine and natural. There is a very small museum (one small room) to browse and a few picnic benches.

Hilda Palermo: Beautiful park, has a playground and pool for family sharing, also wild area, and Accesible for all

Ben Z: Nice couple trails in the city. Would be nice to have some picnic tables around though

Alena Sheriff: Investigating the park and venturing thru the sacred woods on a guided tour was incredible. The history, the wildlife, and the tour with friends is an activity I would love to do do again. This was my first time at the park and the bonfire and roasted was an added bonus at the end.

Petra Konečná: Very beautiful place, nice beach and you can rent a kayak or bike and see a lot of animals

Andreina De Oliveira: the place is amazing, really very beautiful, the cost is quite cheap ,I loved it, we did not know it and the parking is very comfortable

Paulo Barboza: Great place to bring family, cabanas for BBQ need to reserve.

Adam Kwiatkowski: Small group shelter on southeast side of Oleta River State Park. Located close to water for fishing opportunities. It has picnic tables and grill. May need to call park office to reserve it before bring your party there. Public restroom is within 200 feet and swimming area with small sandy beach is about 6 minute walk to the west.

Oscar HENAO: Great place for a good day at the park. We held our Christmas Party at the Seagrape pavilion. Excellent place with BBQ grill and electricity. Plenty of space with tables and seating for 40+ under roof.

Craig Boss: If your into bike trails paddle boards or kayak this is your place. They also have a man made beach. Bike rentals and a small restaurant and occasionally a food truck. This place has it all. I believe they charge 6 bucks per car but well worth it.

Evan Qarana: A great escape in the middle of the city. Kayaking, hiking, biking, picnicking, and a beach. The bike rentals are high quality and come in different sizes. There is a bike shop here also. I highly recommend it and will be back.
