Main Library: what do users think?

Manuel Hernandez (Manny): I was delighted to find the variety of titles in Spanish in the public library here. I got my card today and intend to make use of this amazing public service. I am glad that it’s available to all of us.

Tia Seeall: The library system can improve for their patrons. Please add fax machines to your services allowed! Make sure vagrants are monitored because a difficult situation can occur for patrons if these people can choose to attack.

Yolanda Mendieta: Is excellent place for everybody, very secure with cameras, police, quiet place and they help a lot to the kids servings tutoring, books advisers, very nice and educated people I am being around this place with my kids for more than 13 years....I CAN SAY THIS IS MY SECOND HOUSE FOR MY AND MY KIDS, plus the library is located in the heart of downtown with all access transportation around you. CAME IS FUN WITH A LOT ACTIVITY AROUND.

J C: Great staff, helpful too. This library is spacious and filed with lots of resources. Only suggestion is their hours should be until 8 like the sister branches.

Alexander Burg: Beautiful public library in downtown Miami. Very quite place. The libraríans are very helpful too.

Carlos René Cruz: I loved my experience at the library. I just moved to Miami a year ago and when I discovered the great options that the library offers to the users I was gagging. You can borrow 30 books at the same if you want and take them home with you! They have a big selection of books, documents, newspapers, magazines and more, in several languages, as Miami is. You can access to the technology sources with laptops, computers, iPads and projectors if you need them. The place is quiet, big enough to have your own space and navigates between all the universes of the books that you have on hand with them. You just have to create an account and They will give you access to all you need. And the BEST.....Everything is FREE! 💓

Nata H.: Very big library with lots of choice. Very big Spanish department and classic books from international writers. Big department for kids and teens. They even gave lunch (some sandwiches I guess) for free when we were there. Only negative that there are too many homeless people..

Beverley McKenzie: They are very helpful at the Library. Whenever you need to know anything about the computer, the scanner, the printer, how to use the computer etc , they are always very helpful & co- operative. It is a pleasure going to the Library. These people that work there are committed.

Avi Haller: Kendall Library. The place is clean and wonderful, but a lot of noise, people speak by cell phones inside the library, Some employees speak in high voice all the time and disturbing the quiet environment. It will be wonderful if somebody show the employees the good manners to be in a library.

West Flagler Branch Library: what do users think?

Carlos Nethersole: A big and noisy staff in a small facility. They should close their office door so we dont see thru and we dont hear whatever they say. Again they should reduce the staff. Too many ppl. Reduce the noise, increase the productivity. Lets go brandon. This is a library. Sshhhh

Dave Salmon: I went there on September 17, 2020.Nice location. To get there, take the 11 bus to 50 Ave.

Harold Del Risco: Great place to use the internet! This branch is a big help for my internet needs. The staff is very helpful and understanding. Very pleasant environment. Love this Library!

Mike Vietz: Funny how the staff all seem to step out of the office from deep sleep. A stank attitude by the dark hair medium length veteran librarian looking lady. I don’t understand why the cleaning lady which do not do much all day- she also lounges/sleep in the office- has a shift from opening to 10pm. Shouldn’t 4hr overnight suffice, and light cleaning if necessary during the day by the rest? What a waste of taxpayer money...

Mike Vietz: Why a staff of 6 people for such a small location? Are tax payers footing the bill for this??? Otherwise, great location, very quiet. Not many patrons during the couple of days I spent here. The 2 guys and short lady with red tshirt seem bored and pay a bit too much attention to people trying to get stuff done. At least in my case. Maybe the wandering eye from female patrons makes them jealous.

Wendy James: Windows 10 and clean new Computers.Intelligent and Knowledgeable Librarians; Contributing and Participating in your Community Development is important.

Dave Salmon: I went there on July 16, 2020. To get there, take the 8 bus to SW 64 Ave. This is the only library located in West Miami.

Arturo F: Internet speed was awful while using WI-FI, less than 5MBPS, I had difficulty measuring its speed. I could not even ping at times. Staff is great, but wew, I had to go to a Starbucks to use WI-FI.

Jany Lopez: Best library in town ☺️

Maria Rodriguez-Larrain: They are very welcoming! And the have opened their doors for our book club meetings.

Vanessa Bl: love this library and the staff that work there are very helpful :)

Culmer Overtown Branch Library: what do users think?

RS Wright: No windows, bars and barbed wire. Incredibly limited and small book selection, very limited resources. Computers for public use are all clustered together in one tiny area, not separate like all other libraries. There are no work stations for those that bring their own laptops like other libraries. The patrons leave a lot to be desired - loud cell phone conversations chalked full of "colorful" language, using the shared computers in a study area to watch movies or YouTube loudly without headphones or loud inappropriate conversations with each other. Was once "entertained" by a couple making loud slurpy kissing noises as they made out in the library. Pretty good example of social disparities and inequality to visit this library and then others in close proximity. This place is just depressing.

victor hall: This library is a great place to go and I enjoy spending time here. It is clean, quite, and extremely large. I can find nearly every book I search for, and the staff is very nice and knowledgeable. My only problem is the parking.

Kathleen Quinn: Small but close to 🏠 home. Good selection of books and an adaquite amount of computers

Dave Salmon: If you are in the Overtown area, check out this library. Right outside the library is Gibson Park.

Barbara Greger: Great place as a library

Dave Salmon: I went there on September 3, 2020 and on December 17, 2021. The place is small and only have four computers. To get there, take the M or 150 bus to 2 St. You can also take the S or 120 bus to 5 St and Alton Rd. You can then walk south on Alton Rd to 1 St.

Josef Domagala: The staff were awesome at the location, as well as on the phone. Helped me print my tax forms. Two thumbs up.

Diadra Smith: Helpful staff. I was new to the area and a staff member walked me through getting my library card.It was quiet and peaceful.

Stephanie Miranda: Nice library with a good selection of DVDs and plenty of computers available. The only problem they have is that many homeless people go there and they smell terrible. Homeless people who smell like urine and are very dirty should not be allowed inside the library.

Paul Janas: The computers work but they removed the comfortable areas to sit because some bums peed on the furniture, so instead of removing the bums, they removed the comfortable furniture and replaced it with hard wooden chairs

David Canela: It’s a small library, very quiet. It has a lot of movies, and reference books and encyclopedias. The WiFi does work.

Ken Nosse: Easy quick. No contact grabbed books I wanted and did self check out.

Roberto Vizcon: Very nice branch. Very airy. Helpful staff. Nice row of computers. It gets very noisy when the middle school across the street is over at around 3 PM school days.

Dave Salmon: I went there on September 1, 2020.This library is located next to Shenandoah Park. To get to the library, take the 22 bus to SW 19 St and then head east one block to SW 21 Ave. The library is on the corner.

Linda Cristina: Staff was welcoming to me as an out of town educator trying to get work done while caring for a family member.

Victor Gonzalez: My favorite Dade Library. This place seems to emerge from the ground. Ceiling to floor windows give this library the sensation you are sitting in a garden but with A/C! Friendly staff, concentrated patrons ,and nice children section are some of assets. This neighborhood place is welcoming, warm, and cozy. An oasis that is worth visiting. Victor J Gonzalez

José Alberto González Cáceres: It is a small library but with a very good atmosphere of tranquility.

Hernando Contreras: I arrived 10 minutes before closing time and I was cheerfully greeted. My library Card had been stolen and a new one was issued promptly at no cost! I asked for help to find a section which they identified for me but regretted that the library was closing. I advised them that I knew it was closing in 5 minutes and quickly picked 4 books. All in all, it was a delightful experience especially when other businesses might have said “Sorry! We’re closing!!”

Sonia Morais: We love this library. The staff is friendly and helpful and my daughter loves story time with Ms. Patti. She is wonderful with the kids, we feel right at home.

Victor J Gonzalez: This library seems to emerge from the ground. The floor to ceiling glass windows creates a garden vibe making i it inviting and luminous. The front yard with its chimes and coral rocks has a magical atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive.

Elizabeth Myguguleboo 0.o: Sometimes there are many homeless people laying around the entire front of this library. Makes for safety and health issues. Other than this it is an OK library.

Dave Salmon: I went there on June 30, 2020. To get there, take the 77 bus to NW 82 St.

garcia beckford: The person at Customer care was very Nice 👍

Larncy Rolle: Exceptional except for 1 time one of the new staff was not customer oriented. All other visits has been very courteous and professional. I also am excited about the new application where you can go on line and from your e-mail you can send documents to the printer and just go into the branch and print the documents that was sent via e-mail. Great job, way to go Miami Dade Library staff. Things are improving and it shows.

Frannie Dee: Very courteous staff, even the security guard who shushed me when I was talking too loud, just like when we were taught to behave in school. They make sure masks are kept up.

Greg McClendon: I noticed how well one of the Branch employees handled herself when dealing with a patron who did not know what a password, ID, nor email address was and wanted to sign up to work at a polling booth. Kudos to that young woman!

Lawrence Tyler: Very helpful staff. Clean environment, and I highly recommend this library.

Sunset Branch Library: what do users think?

Oliver Solorzano: Staff is helpful, book selection is strong for kids and biographies, religion, great throwback movie selection. Cozy and comfy for reading on site. Not a vast and enormous selection but WHO can expect such of a site as this??

Olgie: I love the Sunset Branch Library. It is small and quaint and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The selection is small however it can always be picked up at this location. Customer service is great and they are always willing to assist. I like the small and cozy ambiance of this location.

JULIO A Pascual: I was working for half an hour in this place and I had to leave because the staff does not show respect for the people working there. Only four clients and four staff members and they did not stop talking extremely loud (staff) about things that no one cares about. As to not come again to this horrible place.

Gensy Maray Figueredo Figueredo: Horrible: The place looks like a cafeteria, people arrive and talk extremely loud, talk to the staff as if it were not a library and the staff does the same. It is a total lack of respect for people who try to study.

Michel Farrera: Horrible, too small, the kids area is only a blue carpet. It supposed to be a toddlers storie time but nobody came, now I know why.

Susie Demesmin: Too small. The phone kept ringing not a good place to study

Yesenia: This is a noisy library with no respect for the people that go there triyng to get a quiet place to study

Joan Fabian Fernandez de la Vega Leon: Definitively not a good place to study, to noisy

Little River Branch Library: what do users think?

Stretch Lane: Usually very quiet most of the time. Everyone and then there may be a person with the foolishness. But overall very very nice and helpful staff. Go here everyday after work to study and trade.

Dave Salmon: I went there on August 4, 2020. To get there, take the 9, or 10 bus to NE 79 St. You can also take the L bus to NE 2 Ave.

CNYC: Should have read the reviews about it having no parking. Only street parking available. Parking zone 40806.

Maadd Raasss: Horrible staff. They gossip and talk about everyone that comes in. AC vents are never clean, easy to get sick in there. They antagonize certain guests. Its been said they have cameras in the bathrooms. The overall stay can be very uneasy and uncomfortable most times.

Iseult: I love this Library. It’s fairly quiet and the staff are pleasant. This is where my fondest childhood memories took place.

Louidor W. louis: It is okay the service is okay but there is a light skined haitian who is really rude but the library is wonderful they always help you for what you need help with.

Caleb Wilson: It’s a very small library so I usually request a book and pick it up at Little River. Very quiet usually

PRETTY CHACHA: The staff is very nice and friendly. The place is quiet too.

mary-kate Sullivan: Kindest, most helpful people I have ever met. Truly.

Lemon City Branch Library: what do users think?

Vanessa Andrade: I love the children’s area of this library, lots of selections and they usually have some activities like puzzles or coloring for kids to do. I also like how personable the librarians are. They have recommended books my children would like since we go regularly, little things like that make this our favorite library!

Dave Salmon: I went there on August 3, 2020. I had to leave early because they were doing the polls for the upcoming primaries. To get there, you can take the 62 bus to NE 4 Ave. You can also take the 9 or 10 bus to NE 61 St. Walk east to NE 4 Ave and the library is on the right.

Cesar Pichardo: Extremely loud. People are just talking and shouting having full conversations while people are trying to read, use the computers or study. The employees did not do anything to keep silence some even joined the conversation. Very disappointing.

Sandra Tagle: I need a peaceful place to work and study without distractions near home. And I found it. The staff is very nice and helpful.

Iseult: What an historic library and the staff there are top notch. I enjoy going there everyday. It’s quiet and clean. Lovely place

Maruschka G: Librarians are nice. You can study here but try to make it before school gets out. A lot of kids come here. But overall I love this library.

Willie Pinchinat: Great atmosphere for kids and adults. Very helpful staffers, only down side to this location its closed on Sundays. Making it harder for my daughter to complete school assignments on the weekend.

City of North Miami Public Library: what do users think?

Lulu G: If you want a quiet place to study this isn’t the place. I’m studying for my broads test and it does matter what day or time I come there’s always noise. It doesn’t matter what part of the library you sit someone is always making noise.

Gwen Kunkel: This was my first time here. We recently moved to the area so I needed to get a new library card. The librarian was so kind and helpful. He explained to me the difference between the county and municipal libraries and helped me check out 4 books. They didn’t have the series that my fiancé is reading, so he ordered them all and is going to reach out when they come in! I highly recommend going here if you live in the area. All of the staff were professional and friendly. They do have limited hours currently because of Covid: 11-5 M-F.

mary-kate Sullivan: Although new to this library, from the moment I walked in I felt welcomed and surrounded by all good things a library offers. And it is directly across from North Miami High school! What an opportunity for those students (and teachers)!Happy reading and researching, online or off.MK Sullivan

Dark Lord Davi: Literally the worst library I have ever been to in my entire life. There’s a school across the street and once class ends kids/teens come and cause absolute CHAOS!!!!! It is almost impossible for me to study, read, or even pay attention due to the amount of noise. Security does absolutely nothing about the HORRIBLE behavior of the student that don’t even use the libraries resources!!!! Only come during weekends/summer break/ or when school is in session that is the ONLY time when this Library is stable.

SincerelyShey: Okay I know these ratings are straight lies. Realistically speaking this library is very very very loud due to the amount of teenagers soliciting there. Yes they are soliciting because they are not in the library for its resources. They just sit around and talking, yelling, running, cussing, horseplaying everywhere. I’m at this library at least 3 times a week and the kids are always there making noise. Security does nothing and staff does nothing. Kick them out PLEASE. On top of that, security says NOTHING to these kids that are shouting cuss words and making this a very uncomfortable environment but you better believe he will correct everyone one sitting awkwardly in a chair. Like this dude waves at the kids as they’re terrorizing the library. What kind of library is this? Shut it down.

Cher Pie: The staff is very nice and is ready to help with whatever the questions one may have. The library itself is clean, plenty of books to choose from. The only thing is, it can get loud at some point when I’m trying to study and get some work done. I want somewhere that I can study with peace and quiet, that would be really... after all, it is a library. 🤦🏾‍♀️🙄

Frannie Dee: Nov.2020 Covid-19 hours are still Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. wonderful staff. Very helpful. Automatic temperature check upon entry and hand sanitizer right up front. 30 computers available but only 15 in use for social distancing.

Westchester Regional Library: what do users think?

D R: Quiet, clean, available seating/ parking, wide selection of books for adults/kids.

Govinda Ghimire: Amazing place for kids and parents as well. Tons of books and activities. I can’t thank enough to the staffs.

Dave Salmon: The first time I went there was on September 16, 2020. I went there again on April 18, 2022 two years later. To get there, take the 8 or 24 bus to either the SW 97 Ave stop or the SW 93 Ct stop.

DinoTheArtworks: I am a big fan of MDPLS ever since I’ve been attending their online events back in December of last year. I decided to explore the libraries and this was one of them to explore. First of all, it is very big on the outside and inside. There is a first and second floor and as soon as you entered, the desk was to your left. The first floor was with study rooms and a large variety of books. Also, a vending machine. Everything was pretty quiet most of the time. The second floor was the same thing except there is a kids playing area and no vending machines. I went here a while ago so my review on how the library looks may be not accurate. The staff was nice and checked out my books without any problems. I said bye and went out the door happy. Recommend if you’re near the area and is either a bookworm or big fan of MDPLS like me.

LM: It is always wonderful to go there, the smell of books, the cleanliness, the organization. Now after the coronavirus you have to keep your distance and wear a mask all the time. The ground floor is literature for adults and the second floor for children. When the schools run the groups it is a bit uncomfortable to concentrate with the children. There is a vending machine with soft drinks and water and snacks. Membership is wonderful, free, you register and they give you your card to take the books free for 30 days. It is always pleasant to go there.

H O: The building is awesome. Variety of content. Old and clean. including the bathrooms upstairs. My only complaint is they need to have a responsible for kids area. Beacuse adult visitor bring kids and let them act like in a park. jumping, screaming, running. If they made people respect each other inside kids area. Can be perfect place to study.

Virrick Park Branch Library: what do users think?

Dave Salmon: I went there on September 10, 2020. The library is located in Elizabeth Virrick Park. To get there, take the Metrorail to Douglas Rd. You then walk south on Douglas Rd one block to Day Ave. You make a left on Day Ave going east for two blocks until you get to Hibiscus St. Make a right and the library is on the right. This area is Coconut Grove.

ok prabhu: The library is small clean and generally empty. The problem is people including staff talk very loud and disturb the other people studying and working.

Moraly Arroyo: Great little library with caring and helpful librarians and staff! They help engage kids in constructive and fun learning activities. Space is modern, bright and welcoming. It can be improved by expanding to create a more substantial space for teens.

Pia Clemens: Very nice

Richard J. Montenegro: I LOVED ❤️❤️❤️

Claudia Vargas: Excellent Services

Bella Burch: Great park

Juan carlos Esquerra: (Translated by Google) Excellent place for consultations and school work ,,, has a printer for whatever you occupy (Original) Excelente lugar para consultas y trabajos de escuela,,,cuenta con impresora para lo que ocupes
