The Bookshop: what do users think?

Monty Langford: I was in Miami for a business trip, and was introduced to The Book Shop by a mutual friend of the owner. The moment I stepped into the space, I fell in love with it. Its size is small and its presence is welcoming, like a familiar friend, yet it is quite alluring. But don’t let the size of The Book Shop fool you, it’s also home to a publishing powerhouse. Owner, Tabitha Rose, has published books for award-winning authors and little-authors, alike. She makes everyone feel like they are on top of the world—like every one of your dreams is within grasp, if you only extend your arm and reach. I felt very fortunate to have visited during a few book releases / author talks, where I met some lovely authors who signed my book with wonderful personal messages, which I’ll treasure. In The Book Shop, there are also a number of classical books available, and other smalls; such as essential oils, crystals, and sage. Be sure to follow them on social media to learn about some of the events they run like kids’ days, tea socials, workshops, spiritual circles, and more. 10/10 experience!
Response: We are so grateful for you!

James Casey: I LOVE THIS PLACE! This is an incredible bookstore and made me wish that I lived in the neighborhood. The selection of books is fantastic and the blind date with a book is my absolute favorite. Such wonderful, kind, and helpful staff. The owner, Tabitha Rose,is so wonderful and has such a beautiful spirit Thank you "The bookshop" for an incredible experience!

Fernanda Ramos: I love this bookstore! They have such a good variety of books, gifts for all tastes and they also promote very fun events. The staff was super helpful assisting me, specially Jess. Overall it is a great place to check it out, I will be back!

Jessica Rachel: This is my all-time favorite bookshop! Located off NE 2nd ave just a few minutes from the beach, I absolutely love coming here and browsing allthe beautiful books, candles and journals. This is my favorite shop to support and I always look forward to stopping by! Hope to see you there ❤️

Alyssa Pivarnick: A true gem of a shop with an eclectic selection, great ambiance, and always smells so good. Such a cozy, feel-good space. Their newest consultant, Jess, is amazing. She is a perfect addition.

Jay Ray: The coziest, most precious bookstore I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. I recently moved to the neighborhood and I’m so glad I stumbled upon this amazing shop. So many good finds and just the most exquisite space. This will be my weekly hangout as Tabi and Jess are a pleasure to be around!

Teo Montoya: Life to Paper is an extraordinary bookstore because it’s purpose is to invoke the creative process of writing and enrich the world with storytelling. The bookstore is spacious and inviting and makes you feel like sitting, reading and even pondering the story within. There is a subtle magic about this place, the magic of imagination becoming reality and the magic of a community of creatives. I find this place to be very uplifting and inspiring. I highly recommend visiting this curious literary haven.

Ga Go: Always a delight to see a bookstore and that not all of them have died out. It is a smalller version of their other bookstores but still offering a variety of books to explore for all ages.

Matt DiNuzzo: Good book store with a wide selection of new books. The displays were organized and had 2 floors. Glad to stop in and get a book for the trip back!

Lorena Be: I love this book store. I always look forward to visiting this store when heading to Coconut Grove. My favorite book store in Miami. Video on location is up on below social media. IG: FoodieFortLauderdale TIKTOK: FoodieFortLauderdale YOUTUBE: FoodieFortLauderdale
Response: Thank you so much for this. We hope to see again soon!!

Ariel W.: Mitchell Kaplan founded Books & Books in 1982 in a 500 sq ft space in Coral Gables when he realized that he loved books more than going to law school. Somehow this independent book seller has managed to stay in business in a time when most books are bought online. One of the ways they have stayed relevant is by hosting over 60 author events every month. You can check their website for the online calendar listing all of the events. Books & Books also sponsors one of my favorite events every November, the Miami Book Fair, where 300 hundred authors converge on the Wolfson Campus of Miami Dade College for a week of one of a kind literary events. The fair was started in 1984 by Miami-Dade College Wolfson Campus President, Eduardo J. Padrón and Mitchell Kaplan in partnership with the Miami library system. Many famous people, artists, athletes, politicians, and celebrities have come to Miami to speak about their books at the fair. It is now the largest literary festival in the country. I was wandering Coconut Grove when I spotted this branch of the Book & Books store. Books & Books has now expanded to seven locations including this one in Coconut Grove that opened in 2019. Unlike ordering online, here you can grab some wine or coffee and light bites from the small cafe while you peruse the books. There is something magical about visiting a bookstore and getting that personal touch like talking to a friendly staff member and asking for a recommendation. It is so great that there is still a place where you can be around other bibliophiles. Bookstores just make me happy. Please consider supporting this wonderful local business that brings so much to our community.

Christel G: They had the book I was looking for! 🙌🏽 This is a great bookstore. Quaint and comfortable with friendly booksellers ready to give you the lay of the land. Will definitely be back!
Response: Thank you for taking the time to write! We welcome you back...

Edie: It’s a cute book store but I’m not sure what anyone is talking about with food and coffee. I just went in there and the desk person opened the store late so I waited and when she let me in she had no idea what I was talking about and said there’s only ever been a couple of cold drinks… even though there’s a menu ??
Response: Edie, I'm so sorry about coming to our Grove store expecting food and coffee. When we opened two years ago, we did offer that, but during Covid we discontinued it. Our Gables location still has a very active cafe with really good food and desserts, as well as beer and wine and coffee and espresso. I hope you get a chance to check it out. Again, I'm so sorry to have let you down...

Johanna Sensique: Amazing book store many choices and really helpful I really loved going there to find a new book during my vacation
Response: Thank you so much for this!! Hope to see you next time. Happy holidays!!

Mike Wilson: What a lovely little bookshop in the Grove. Definitely visit!!

Eduardo Ulloa: Cool place Luis was very helpful , took 4 books home with me and ordered one .

Daniela RI: I grew up going to this bookstore and spending hours there, and yes I bought books. Recently came in for the first time in a while and was reading a bit. I was told by a polite employee that it is not allowed to sit on the floor except in cafe. Then I noticed they removed all the chairs including by the magazines. I get you want people to pay for the books, but that is just an awful way to treat customers. In a time where I can buy pretty much any book for two thirds of the list price online, I come to bookstores to peruse and help me choose. What are you really gaining from such a short sighted policy? What are you losing? You keep away young readers who maybe can’t afford every book and just want to hang and read, and who will grow to be educated adults who later buy books. Last time I’m stepping foot in that place. I feel terrible for the employees that have to enforce this policy.

PharticusMaximus: This is the best book store left. They have a huge Selection of books of every genre. You can sit and read books while you shop. The have a ton of mangas, loads of collectibles, funko pops, card game packs, board games, a big kids area full of books and fun. They also have one of the best magazine racks in town too. If you like books, cards games, and board games, you must visit this awesome bookstore.

Sergio Delfanti: Huge display of books and travel guides. From cooking to philosophy, from science to fiction for kids and for adults , some are real bagains. I always come out with some books or magazines in a B&N bag. But if you are a tourist (like me) take in account weight and volume in your travel luggage ! But enjoying a reading stop at the cafeteria is a plus.

Jorge Costa: Extremely efficient workers and painless checkout @ this bookstore. Unfortunately law books cost a fortune but that has little to do with this place. They do their job and they do it very well. I give four stars and not five because I purchased a book last semester that fell apart on me (as in the book came off the binding). I have a suspicion that it may have been the manufacturers fault because it was an “international edition” but the store could have done a little more to check they’re receiving only the best products. However, I plan to continue going here for the remainder of my years at the U because it is the only place I can get my stuff quicker than Amazon.
Response: Thanks for posting ! If you ever have an issue with a book just let us know and we will do everything we can to make it right! Have a Great semester. Book Horizons, since 1953.

John Hoover: This place actually cares for the students! I am happy to do business here and trust them with all of my law school needs. They know your schedule better than you do and all you have to do is show up. Every university should have a bookstore like this.
Response: Thank you so much! We truly appreciate your business and work everyday to provide fast, personal service. Have a great semester!

Monkey Fart: This place is lightening-fast and efficient at what they do. Don’t go to the campus bookstore; go to BH instead. Bookstore sold me a book for $240 but BH sold me the same book in near mint condition for $30. Staff is friendly, outgoing, and rewards loyalty.

Wendy Y: Lovely staff here, came forward to offer assistance immediately as I stepped in (out of curiousity) and when I just wanted to browse, they were respectful and left me to it. They also made awesome recommendations for t-shirts (the real reason I stepped in). I left with two lovely mandarin t-shirts that said Miami (迈阿密) 👍

Tiff Ash: Super helpful and friendly family! Definitely recommend trading with them rather than the campus bookstore. I appreciate the individualized help and superior service they provide to their customers!

Solid Reviews: Book horizons is very convenient for you and students

Bill Anthony: Terrific service, been around forever!!!

Jonathan C: I have some used books, could I sell them to you? If yes, what kind of books do you want?
Response: Hi deal with the latest edition in college and law school books! Thanks!

Matt Brown: Really special book store with a wonderful atmosphere, extremely well-curated selection of books and an enthusiastic, well-informed staff. The cafe/garden is lovely as well. A must for any book store enthusiast.
Response: Matt, thank you for your kind words! Looking forward to seeing you in the store...

L Sanchez: This bookstore is a gem for all readers. Exceptional place for all ages. I have gone to many bookstores ,and it’s an in and out situation. The setting outdoor is very inviting . And the ambiance inside is so chill you end up wanting to stay. The staff is so friendly and attentive. I definitely recommend.
Response: Wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to write this. Looking forward to seeing you next time!!

Personal Account: Hands down the BEST bookstore in Miami. Everyone that works there is thoughtful, patient and passionate about books! The architecture and indoor patio are beautiful. Their bar area is peaceful. And their cafe is yummy. It’s an experience as much as it is a retailer. HIGHLY recommend 😊

Quinton Lawton: Good atmosphere if you love browsing for books or just want a place to hang out. Happy hour is great; highly recommend the hummus as a nice snack. Employees are attentive. Overall just a great place to spend a few hours. I visit at least 2 or 3 times a month and always find something new to keep myself entertained!

Enrique J. Lopez: Books & Books will always be Books & Books. The true bookstore feeling without the flash that others attempt to incorporate into their bookstore. Quaint, quiet and enjoyable. Pleasant and helpful, but not intrusive staff. Always an enjoyable visit. Excellent location and access. Enjoy!!
Response: Thank you, Enrique! This means a lot to all of us!!

Diana Briceno: Such a cute little bookstore! I found some amazing new reads and enjoyed some coffee in their outdoor area. I wish there were more book stores like this 😍
Response: Thank you for your very kind words!! We hope to see you in the store again soon.

Maria Paz: Books and books is a beautiful place to pick a book and read it. The little cafe is very well served.

M R: Watch Out and READ YOUR RECEIPT !!! "Store Credit Only" SAD!! With all the stress and so-so economy they DO NOT refund you ? I always looked up to BOOKS & BOOKS as an institution in our community, I love the stores and staff just disappointed to find out about the refund policy, in today world where everyone refunds you. Costing mistake for buying a book that we had and did not realized.... Good to see that now Assouline and Taschen have their own stores in Mia Bch, and Amazon off course. Cool stores but no thank you.

Mitra Raheb: Charming little place that brings back a rarely seen time. If you like books, this place is it. What I would recommend is buy a book, walk to Chocalatier, get ur self a Cafe Au Lait and a desert and then start reading your book.
Response: Thank you for this very nice review! Hope to see you again!!

David Granat: What a wonderful selection of diverse books. Great store!

Nick: Nice store and staff but realized after I left that their markup is nearly 50% or more. Paid and extra $20-30 more on average per book we bought there compared to the average price in other stores. Would not recommend unless you domt mind spending extra for your books.

Carmen Birt: This bookstore is nice, but if you are interested in sci-fi or fantasy the selection is slim. It seems more geared towards coffee table books and other display pieces.

Lori B: Knowledgeable staff in every location. Love the selection of other gift items in addition to the exceptional selection and display of books. A long time favorite spot from the original in Coral Gables to my neighborhood shop in Bal Harbor!

Jennifer Green: super clean and the sales associates were helpful.

stefi: great bookstore! I love the atmosphere and they sell other wonderful items as well! They had a toy section for younger kids, and best of all was their studio ghibli set up! My friend got this silly cat toy there, 100% worth it!

Earrings Junkie: Friendly employees approached us as soon as we entered and asked if we needed any help. They were very helpful. The store is well laid out. We went on a Sunday and was happy to see so many families exploring reads.

Ana Gomez: I love this place. Very organized, welcoming, employees are very helpful and fast check out.

Angie Quintero Pareja: Nice place for reading, buying good books and possibility to stay for have a cup of coffee, brunch or a snack.

Hunter Masi: I love bookstores and Barns & Noble is my favorite one. It’s such a nice vibe to have books everywhere but I wish sometimes my ADD would allow me to truly finish a book for once!

TheRangeSpy: A large book store, but didn’t have the books we were after.

Andrew Moniz: Barnes & Noble is always great. Employees are always helpful, and they have a great selection of books. I just wish there were more of them around.

Roger Castro: I always go to this location about twice a month with my girlfriend she always finds something in the YA section and I only buy manga and omnibus comics exclusively ,location is always clean and workers are always nice and welcoming Something to note always check your book beforehand while browsing the store I noticed a handful of books had either bent covers or ripped backs I know this normal for a chain book store retailer

Arlyn Stebenne: My favorite vintage store EVER. Great curation of home goods, clothing, jewelry and so many books! I especially have been loving the vintage photographs lately, a bunch have ended up on my walls. So fun to flip through. Also they have the coolest bathroom. I really enjoy shopping here!

University of Miami Campus Store: what do users think?

Vanessa: Only went to the campus shop.

Dave García: The Campus Store at UM has everything from textbooks, to caps, cups, mugs, pins, t-shirts, sweatshirts and any merchandise UM can put its logo on. I don’t buy textbook here – I usually go out of campus and buy them used at a discount.

Scott Bender: Large "mask required signs" all over to enter campus stores and buildings. You would think they would sell masks! Nope, great signs no masks for sale.

Isabella Childress: In general, the campus store’s merchandise is pretty pricey, but there are always discount items available for purchase. Also, you can sign up to be on the University of Miami Campus Store’s email list, which sends coupons and other promotions to your inbox almost daily. I highly recommend stopping by the post office located inside (to the right of the check-out center). It has a consistent rotation of unique stamps and the customer service is top-tier. They are very engaging, efficient, and helpful if you are not familiar with/have any questions regarding postal service policies.

Friends Forever: Beautiful campus. Lots of construction work being done. It will really sparkle when complete..

John J Masucci (Johnny): What can I say they sell over price items that show my loyalty and affiliation with my alma mater and I pay it because I want to support the cause and I like the items

Aya S.: Great place, high quality items

anthony jones: All the Canes gear you could need or want. Very expensive though.

Frangipani - Miami Boutique and Concept Store: what do users think?

OB SPACES: Very nice store! However, customer service is very poor… I came in wanted to buy a gift for a friend, I heard great things about Frangipani so decided to check it out. When I came in there was a young lady at the counter, she didn’t even greet me as I walked in. Then a few minutes later a few more customers came in and she stays at the back of the register… now I’m not sure if that’s a way to monitor what is going on in the store but it’s not welcoming at all. ASK PEOPLE IF THEY NEED HELP!!! It was my first time there and it will be my last.
Response: Hello. Im very sorry you didn’t enjoy your experience at frangipani. We try very hard to make all of our customers feel welcome. Hope you’ll give us another try.

Diana Beze: Love this store. This christmass I went like 3 times in a row😂. Every time I go a find something new . Cute pieces. I would love if they open sooner
Response: Thank you so much! Hope to see you again soon.

Nicole Rodriguez: i got earrings at their store that were very cute and were $30. When i got home i found all of the earrings in a pack on amazon for $8. I feel scammed.
Response: Hi Nicole. I am so sorry to hear you are disappointed. Our jewelry artist does not sell to Amazon do they cannot be the same pieces. However if you are unhappy with your purchase I would be happy to refund you. Please reach out to the store. We don't want any unhappy customers!

Jamie Fuller: This store has SO MANY amazing gifts that are all on the funky side that any recipient would love. Hats, towels, accessories, jewellrey, oddities. I could spend an hour in here and a lot of money if I had no rules! I will come back next time I am in Miami.
Response: We've added even more! We moved to a larger location and updated our website! Check them out when you get a chance. Thank you for your review Jamie!

Ricky Studds: My favorite store on the Wynwood strip. Has funky fresh calligraphy, custom Greeting cards with prices less than Publix. Cool patches and pins, Wynwood local coloring books. This is a great place to get something for a loved one as a gift.
Response: We really appreciate that you had a great experience at our store! The store is still open, come check out our new location!

Suzan McDowell: Frangipani is a simply wonderful array of gifts and notables- the offerings are beautiful, and unique, I found the perfect gift for my sister Thank you 🙏🏽
Response: So glad we were able to help Suzan! We switched locations, and moved to a larger space. That means more gifts and more unique items!

Walt Grace Vintage: what do users think?

Michael Ash: One of the coolest automobile infused guitar stores I’ve been to. The staff were very friendly. Would have to visit again if a 550 Spyder stops by here! The coffee was good too.
Response: Thanks, Michael, but we hope to see you long before we have a 550 on the floor—not the easiest car to find! LOL.

Andreas “Aris” Aristidou: Wow what a place! Half a shop and half a museum. You can spend hours there just taking it all in. From the vintage cars, to awesome guitars, gifts and accessories, everything is unique and special. Definitely on the expensive side but well worth a visit anyhow!
Response: Thanks, for the review and kind words. Hope to see you again soon.

Stu M: A must if you’re in Miami! Dropped in for a coffee and loved the place, beautiful guitars, incredible vintage cars and super friendly staff. Coffee was pretty good too. Great experience!

Joe Camuto: Awesome! Very unique and unexpected experience. Definitely would recommend it to anyone interested in music memorabilia and classic/exotic cars!

George P: Just an absolute gem filled with a rotating collection of unique cars, art, and guitars that make it a great stop in Wynwood. Stop here for espresso too.

Don Lechon1966: Beautiful guitars, cars, people and the art of it all. It takes a Beautiful mind to present such an assemblage in an sculpture of inventive inventory populating soothing but stimulating artful collages. Go have a refreshment at the coffee bar ,enjoy! Boss Bill whose creativity can be experienced throughout, a gracious host. Will definitely come back for the changes but most of all the owner and staffs warmth. GO THERE!

Brian G: What Grace Vintage facilitated the purchase of my first high end amplifier from Two-Rock. The staff was courteous and friendly. They provided a personalized experience designing my dream amplifier from scratch. The staff remained in contact during the build phase and called me as soon as it came in. I highly recommend Walt Grace Vintage if you want to take your own sonic journey.
Response: Thanks for the kind words, Brian—right back at you! It’s was truly a pleasure. Thanks again, and enjoy your new Two-Rock (we’re all kinda, sorta jealous)!!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼

Enrique Barron (HeinrichBar): I just went to the store and I LOVED IT! The attention of the staff, Patrick & Larry they were outstanding, friendly. Definitely I won’t buy any other guitar if is not in this place… Maybe a car too, who knows!! Hands up for the owners 🤘🏼🤘🏼⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Shops At Sunset Place: what do users think?

Ana A: First time here and many more to come. The theater experience was awesome and especially when we were very close to the speaker and we were far away in the back. Great seats. They have many options for snacks and a lot of bathroom space for everyone to get the chance to use it.

beautiful world: I used to love this place but I went today and it is almost empty, just a few places open. It looks like this place is about to shutdown.

Harrison C. Davies: Get lost in this beautiful South Florida Sunset Vista! Enjoy the outdoor shopping while the namesake sun rays reflect off the beautiful architecture and overlooking beacon tower! #shops #sunsetplace #shoppingmall #southmiami #dadecounty #florida #sunset

Alex falgons: Only giving it 2 stars because of its past and its potential. This place used to be one of the best malls. There is probably less than 10 stores open in the whole mall and they are all about to close. Management here must be horrible. I can only imagine that they are trying to charge an arm and a leg for retail space even though everything is empty. Step one parking Hass to be free until further notice. Step to offer incentives for local businesses to move in. Step three make it more family friendly and do some thing to attract kids.

Masha Goncharenko: The place itself is bit old and not really renovated, but it has a lot of unique shops! My favorite is the Cute and Colorful store and the Tea and Poets place, but there are other interesting places to explore as well. Sort of like a treasure hunt in a way?

LP JESABELLE: Its so sad the mall has become practically empty. This use to be my favorite mall but now is just GameTime, and some food spots downstairs.

Barnes & Noble: what do users think?

Julio Alvarado: staff are friendly, and a great place to come and relax. i much prefer this location to the one down the road. parking at this location and be horrible depending on the time and day because of where it is but it’s right off the highway so it’s very convenient if you’re visiting the area. if you live in the area then i do recommend going to the location down the road instead.

Kourosh Ghazvini: Kids always love coming here and had a good a good variety of products from board games to any book you really need.

Robertson Adams: Nice shop and nice staff but... i cant imagine ANYTHING but shelf junk walking out of this place. Outmoded, irrelevant and dino-friendly.

TRXSIEY !: this is the barnes and nobles i always go to, however their manga section keeps getting smaller and smaller… i’ve been trying to find urusei yatsura volume two since last summer and they never restock it! and i saw they still had the same two copies of gabriel dropout i saw in 2018… as well as many series with no volume 1-3.. only ever stock new volumes of a series til they run out and never stock them again, wish they had a bigger section and stocked more often, found nana volume one today though! highlight of the week

Mr B.: Huge selection, place is really quiet and spacious. You can grab a coffee and relax with a book, honestly I was surprised the place was almost entirely empty.

Marco Gutierrez: I loved my experience at this Barnes and Nobles, because of their staff that always has an answer for any question you have and because of all the amazing books

MiamiBeach Express: This is my relax time spot to have a cup of coffee and enjoy a great book

Sergey Sachkov: Great as always. Not often go there, because it is far away, but I enjoy when I get there. Coffee & books, what could be better?!

Merlin Fernandes: Hello All. Little about my visit to Barnes & Nobles. If you like to read then this place is for you. B&N has books for ever one. Large section for every age group. The place is clean and the books are stacked neatly.Just wish there was a store In Hialeah, Fl.

carmen hearn: Great experience with my grandson. Ended up buying a couple of books. Priced well. Got a bargain or two. No lines no waiting. Very quiet.

Heather LaGuardia: Convenient parking in plaza. Observing masking precautions Hand sanitizer upon entry. Opens at 11 am gets a bit crowded. Stock a tad picked over so not all specials available. But overall safe clean environment

Maru Blanco: This place is great for those who love reading! I have been here many times and always have interesting selection of books and if you want it, you can have a member card where they give you points and discounts with each purchase. I’m a Stephen King fan and here I always find new ways to enjoy myself with this and other authors. Oh! And here there’s a coffee section, so feel free to buy a book and then sit and read!

Reena Richardson: I took my 9 year old here this past Saturday (12/05/2020) for his first time and he loved it! The cashier at the front when we first walked in greeted us and was extremely professional and helpful!! We told him it was his first time at a bookstore and gave my son a special welcome and even helped us locate a specific book that my son was looking for and gave some more recommendations. We both had such a great time and experience that we are definitely coming back. Unfortunately I don’t remember the name of the employee that was so helpful Saturday morning but he deserves a raise. The ambience of the entire bookstore was calm and serene and everything was fully stocked, and neat & clean. I was very impressed. Also, the staff in the cafe were courteous as well as knowledgeable. They made the best hot drinks for us.

Tony Meyer: Good location, easy in and out, was able to find the reading materials I was looking for in a matter of minutes and I was on my way, thank you Barnes & Noble
