Mike Maynes: I love heading to South Beach and diving with Tarpoon Lagoon. You get a quality dive boat, superb Captain Ani, and experienced and friendly instructors. I generally dive the shallow sites, but the boat goes to all kinds of reefs and wrecks at different depths. There’s also pay by app parking under a building in the shade, as well as full marina amenities with deli, restaurants, and the stocked dive shop.

OfficialCrescent: Absolutely amazing dive center. I did quite thorough research about literally every dive center in Miami and this stuck with me. Their customer service is next to none with instructors and staff who treat you like their own family. Their prices are reasonable especially compared to what others are charging. They have pretty good rental gear, along with a fully equipped store for all your needs. The boat has everything that a person could need from oxygen to life rafts. Their instruction is very well conveyed, showing complex topics with very clear concepts. Doing your certification or dives with them will have you set for a career! - Aryan

Ginelle Peterson: My sister and I took our Open Water Diving Certification at Tarpoon Lagoon, and our instructor was with Hannah and Maya. We had the absolute best experience. Extremely thorough in the content and techniques of safe diving and very empathetic and patient trainers. They also are hilarious which made the entire two days fun. The vibes are just really cool at this place, and you can tell they prioritize respect and kindness within their entire team by how close all the employees are with one another. Hannah is also specialized (or certified) in identifying fish. What made the experience even better was how good she was at finding the sea creatures in the water that someone else may just swim over. She spotted multiple really cool species like an eel hiding away, sting rays and two babies, huuuuge puffer fish, and many more. Lastly, I recommend buying your own goggles and snorkel gear at the shop, it was a game changer. Highly recommend!!

Christina Franquiz: Great Dive shop and great dive classes. Instructors are top notch and extremely patient. Pat and Mondo have a special place in my heart. Meera Zucker: We did our Open Water Diving course with Bruce & Tyler. Sadly, the ocean was too rough to go out for the open water dives but we were able to adapt and use a local lake instead. This was super important to my friend and I as we flew in just to get this certification - we were relieved there was a Plan B! Bruce was very thorough as it was a lot to cover in 2 days, but by the end of it we were able to do the dives. It was also really nice to have Tyler with us as I had trouble equalizing on day 1 so I didn’t feel as rushed/pressured to dive when I didn’t feel comfortable doing so - especially as we had a flight home the day after we finished (which I couldn’t have done with messed up ears). The other staff members in store were also all super friendly & helpful. Thanks, all!!

Mary Cooper: We interviewed scuba diving places in Miami and surrounding areas up to 2 hours away and found this gem. I was choosing a company that I felt safe sending my 12 year old to get his certification. This company went above and beyond to make this happen, through bad weather and spring break!! Our instructor Hannah, was absolutely the most magnificent choice for an instructor! She treated my son like her own and taught him so well. He is still raving about her and this experience! Her style of teaching is very kinesthetic, making for every type of student to be able to retain the information taught. Not only did he learn so much and got his certification, but he got to see so much sea life!! Best birthday ever!! She was also so supporting of his passion for vegan culture and homeschooling, win win for us!

Taylor Woodward: We booked a dive trip and it was cancelled due to weather, so I cannot speak to the diving, equipment, instruction, etc. All of the employees were friendly and accommodating for the 30 minutes that we were there. My only complaint was that the forecast was consistently calling for windy conditions starting at noon for 3 days prior to our trip. Our trip was cancelled at 9:30 AM (30 minutes after we had to be there) the day of. With the consistent forecast for 3 days prior and the morning of, the trip should’ve been cancelled at 7 AM. If the confidence was high enough at 9:30 AM, then it was high enough at 7 AM to cancel without wasting everyone’s time. The windy conditions didn’t pop up out of nowhere. However, they did give me a full refund with no issues, and I appreciated that.

It look s like we issued a full refund due to the cancellation was weather based. Next time you return to Miami I hope the weather will be better for you and us. We don't like to cancel. It was free, you could also snorkel, I’m telling you, it was an amazing trip as well so many props to GROVE SCUBA

Karan Durbin Emerson: If u ever even thought of trying scuba this is the place to go. They have a class for beginners to come with and instructor and learn what to do. They then take u out to open ocean and take u on 2 dives (ur instructor stays with u) let me say YOU WANT BENJAMINE he was able to keep my wife from giving up, focused on her breathing and at that crucial point in the ocean when it’s LITERALLY SINK OR SWIM he didn’t let me give up. It Was that crucial moment where if you would’ve let fear keep you from doing it one time I don’t think I would’ve ever tried again but we stay there in the water calm controlling our breath he just kept telling me to breathe and eventually I was able to go under I had the most amazing adventure of my life I will never forget it and I am so grateful for Benjamin not letting me give up and doing such a great job teaching especially being he had such a short period of time to do it again.He gave me some ideas of things I could do in my pool to practice because we will be coming back to get our certificates but I will definitely request Benjamin as a teacher and I recommend highly anybody wanted to try scuba to get been as an instructor he’s patient calm and just naturally very relaxed and he can give instructions clearly
J L: Typical Miami Scam Shop - was told that need to book classes with them before specialty shark dive. Turned out to be a lie. The manager is utterly worthless. Scam.
Nicholas Greenberg: Went snorkeling on their Key Largo trip from Miami and it was amazing. The staff were super friendly & attentive and brought us out to two locations on Molasses Reef. Saw multiple barracudas, an angel shark, filefish, parrotfish, angelfish, 3 jacks, and a bunch of other fish. Highly recommend the shop and trip!

Justin Weinstein: Great dive shop and excellent staff! Dive masters are knowledgeable and caring. It is obvious that they all really enjoy diving, the company, and their job. I would highly recommend them for training or just going out for a recreational dive trip.
Pat White: Very nice and friendly at the store prior to diving. The ride out to Key Largo was fun, bit long but fun anyway, the two guys with us in the van were friendly and kind so that was fine. Not sure though why we have to stop for 30 minutes on the way for lunch.... At the dive site it became apparent that we were not diving with South Beach Divers but with Rainbow Divers instead. I had no idea about this until I got there. On the boat itself I felt abandoned, no one told me anything or who I was to dive with. It was a crew member from Rainbow who asked me who my instructor was and he realised I had no clue what was going on and he invited me to tag along with his group for the dive. I had rented a GoPro for the day and had specifically asked about battery life and was told it was fine. Battery died half way through the second dive so I feel I missed out on footage and wasn’t able to capture any post dive moments on the boat either. Back at the store I was just told “that’s GoPro for ya!”. They also failed to accommodate a discount I was informed I would get and which is usual practice. Clearly the guy in the evening was reluctant and unwilling whereas prior to diving It had been mentioned as part of the package. Maybe he just wanted to close up for the night I don’t know... I left with a feeling that prior to diving they were super nice but after the dive they just didn’t seem to care so much anymore. A bit disappointing. However and to be fair the diving was great, the boat was nice and it was a good day out but again that was the site and another company.

Carlos Lopez: I love this place. Service is great, yesterday we got back really late so I called them. and they waited for us to re-fill for day 2 of mini- lobster season. Marlene is a sweetheart makes you feel like a friend instead of a customer.

Tyler Piazza: This was a great diving experience! I rented all of my equipment (but I brought my own dive computer and my own camera), and that went very smoothly. They help you with big and small details, and they got us in and out of the water safely, while showing us a good time. The crew were entertaining and knowledgeable. They did a great job at handling people with different language abilities.
Rligon: Terrific operation. The teams on the boats and the boats themselves were great. Lots of location briefings, and support for everyone from students to experts. The shop team was also top notch. My Galileo computer strap broke, they helped me mount my spare gauges AND went to another shop to pick up a new strap, which was waiting for me when we returned to shore!
N7Wildcat: This is the first dive shop my partner and I have used outside of the Keys and they were amazing. Boarding was a little crazy but after that it was smooth operating throughout the rest of the trip. Three tank dive, to two wrecks and a reef was a lot of fun and the crew was amazing. Out of all of the operations we have gone through this is by far one of the best. We will definitely use them again when we are up in Miami. Thanks for an awesome trip!
Yanna Horsch: I recently got my advanced open water, and dragged my husband along to do his open water dive certification. I absolutely had to leave a review because Shaun was a phenomenal instructor. He went above and beyond to make sure all of his students were well taken care of, and was super educational. I got way more out of the class than I ever expected to. I came in wanting to be an advanced diver, and he made sure that I left as one. He was instrumental in making sure that with communication between dive shops, my husband and I were taken care of with shuttles between South Beach Divers in Miami to key Biscayne to ensure that we could catch the dive boats and attend class. It’s clear that the shop really cares about it students. And that we get absolutely every ounce out of the class. There’s also a dive master who helped with my class, Elana, she was phenomenal as well. I really improved my buoyancy because of her! She definitely exemplified that everyone at the shop is there to see you improve as a diver and have a great time even if they’re not your primary instructor. I’m so glad that I went with the shop to get my certification they took great care of me and my husband and pushed us to become better divers. And special shout out to Shaun, thanks again for a phenomenal experience. Can’t wait to come back! Wish I didn’t live so far away!
Steve: Great staff, great atmosphere, all around excellent. We took our open water certification classes here and could not of asked for a better experience. Our instructor, Alvaro, was amazing. All staff in the shop was top notch and the boat crews could not have done a better job. The best part about it was everyone was really cool and down to earth and helped me and my girlfriend through the entire process.

Jessica: Just finished my diving certification with Ace Diving and I couldn’t have asked for a better team. The instructors were all amazing - Freddy - great start to learning about diving and feeling comfortable, made things easy for us to remember and practice, Ryan - couldn’t have done it without him super encouraging and making us feel safe and comfortable to run through the drills and Carlos - we had on the last 2 dives and is crazy knowledgeable and experienced! Krishan Thakker: Carlos and his ACE Diving team are simply awesome. They are extremely professional, responsive, excellent value for money, and helpful and patient for divers of any level. I have dived with many schools and shops across the world and this group is by far one of the top in terms of collegiality, resourcefulness, and above all safety. The captains and staff are proficiently trained and well versed in everything scuba or snorkel and boating related. I had some dives arranged with them (4 total now) in addition to taking the Enriched NO2 course. Suffice to say, my wife also did discover scuba with them and really enjoyed the experience. We saw coral reef at rainbow reef in addition to Neptune memorial, and will be diving ship wrecks in future. Highly recommend them for any new or experience dive; they will be sure to have what you are looking for in the Miami area!

Max Contador: Me and my sister got our open-water certification with Ace Diving. The team was awesome and made us feel very comfortable with the whole experience. They gave us a breakdown of how everything was gonna go and that’s exactly what we did. They were fun about it and made sure to teach us everything we needed to know. Rana K: I made an online reservation for Snorkeling on Dec 31 2018. But it was cancelled because of what they said was bad weather conditions. As per terms of agreement they were supposed to refund the booking amount of $84.80. I mailed them couple of times requesting for refund. No response at all. Not cool. Finally after 2 weeks called them directly and spoke to Joe. He was understanding and processed the refund within the hour. The rating is for the phone customer service. They still need to work on online customer service. Will try them again on my next trip to Miami.

Between her and I, we’ve been on Juliet from Miami to the Bahamas twice, once to St. Croix and once to Puerto Rico. So we’ve spent about a month total on the ship. We have also already booked a two week reposition trip for March of 2020. After spending a total of four weeks on this ship, I feel that I have a good understanding and have encounter all different people and experiences. Hands down, diving with the Juliet crew is like diving with friends and family. Safety is most important and then everything else after that is fun and enjoyment! Excellent dive site and dive briefings. A caring and attentive crew who always makes sure that you are taken care of and well fed. Very comfortable accommodations and you never feel overcrowded! Just hanging with the crew and other passengers and sharing stories, is truly an outstanding part of being on Juliet. I have been diving since 1986 and Juliet is by far the best dive operation that I have ever encounter! Liza, Kat, & Nate... Don’t change a thing! You truly offer an incredible experience BF&DF

Extensive knowledge of diving, also great taste in music for the drive up to Key Largo and good knowledge of Miami made the drive there and back very enjoyable, too. Saw multiple barracudas, an angel shark, filefish, parrotfish, angelfish, 3 jacks, and a bunch of other fish. Highly recommend Luxy Diver.

Ray Wang: I just got my PADI OW certificate from them, all I wanna say is they are the best, responsible, and also knowledgeable. As a new diver, I do have a lot of questions and I’m not living in FL, I got to make sure everything then book my ticket and hotel to be there. I emailed a lot of diving shops, but there r one of only responded to me and answer all my questions with the patient. And make a plan for my three-week Tuesday schedule. I had Alejandro as my inspector, he was great and I learned a lot from him, and from that, I’m so sure to get my AOW and rescue from them and him. As a “tourist” he will share the best local restaurant for different types of food to you, I follow the list, and the list never let me down. I will move to Miami during this summer, and I will keep learning how to be a better diver with them.

I won’t hesitate to dive with them again when I am back in Miami and I certainly would hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to dive while here.
Benjamin Faris: Raymond is a top notch IDC Staff instructor working for Squallo Divers, and brought me in to get some training done, several specialty certifications and Rescue diver - Open water scuba instructor. I am more than impressed at the level of commitment and mentorship he has put in to training me to the professional level. Looking forward to a week off from work and getting as many dives in as possible this upcoming week with him and my buddies. Its rare to find instructors like this guy, but when you do they will make sure your the best diver you can possibly be. 🤙

Ivan Piccioni: I wanna start by saying that this is hands down the best experience I’ve ever had at a dive shop and I’ve been to many. I went in a couple weeks ago looking to build a custom gun and these guys had everything I needed. They were extremely friendly and weren’t just trying to sell me something, they offered quality service and honest opinions about which route to go with my build. They had an answer for pretty much every question I had and the most affordable prices I’ve seen yet. I couldn’t happier with the way the gun turned out and the customer service Andrew and JC provided. 10/10
Sean Algaze: I went to Nautilus Spearfishing because I was looking for a shop that actually had great freedivers and Spearfisherman I could learn from. From the reviews it looked like I might of found my place. When I went in there it had everything you could possible need, but meeting the staff is what I was really looking forward to doing. My philosophy when going into any pro shop is "its not just the equipment in the shop, but the people that run it" I ended up learning way more then I anticipated from Andrew and had an incredible eye opening conversation with him, then to learn by the end he was the owner of the shop! He never tried to sell me just keep me safe which is exactly what I was hoping for. I could not recommend this shop enough.

N B: Unfortunately, it’s time for me to bid my Cressi mask adieu. I dropped by Underwater Unlimited to find a replacement before I head out on a trip. I was pleasantly surprised by the customer service. I was given helpful advice regarding how to choose the best mask fit for me, which led me to the Aqualung Look in black. In addition, I was given helpful advice regarding wetsuits, fins, and hooded vests. I felt the team genuinely wanted to help me find the right items for me. I unintentionally stayed 10 minutes or so after closing finalizing, yet I wasn’t rushed or guilted. Thank you very much for being courteous and helpful!
Nick Gaouette: I can’t express how helpful and pleasant the staff at Underwater Unlimited was throughout my Open Water Certification. As a referral diver, I came in with a certain amount of paperwork and other administrative hurdles that had to be overcome. They handled it quickly and professionally, and worked with me to make sure I was prepared in every sense of the word for the dives. There was never a moment that I questioned if I was in good hands or if the staff was qualified; their knowledge and passion for the sport were very reassuring as a new diver. Underwater Unlimited made my first trip to Florida one that I won’t soon forget. Because of my time with them, I am a safer and more confident diver. I highly recommend them and their services.

TheOneFishman: I just finished my Open Water certification and could not be happier with the experience. Charlie, Javi, and Alana are some of the funniest and most genuine people you will ever meet. They truly do love instructing new students and make learning about SCUBA exciting. UU also knows all of the great dive spots down here, and in the world, as Charlie has been on over 8,000 dives, which makes me feel honored to be taught by him and his group. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for painless SCUBA training sessions, great prices on gear/rentals, or people who just want some great company while on dives.

We had a simply magical day filled with Snuba/Scuba, visiting various islands, and cruising around seeing the majestic skyline in Miami! My husband had never been diving before and I am certified so the Snuba option was wonderful for his first time, he now wants to get certified too! I absolutely LOVED the fact that we were the only two guests on the boat, it was so peaceful and gave us a chance to bond (away from the kids). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Miami Scuba Diver- whether for cruisin or diving you will not be disappointed! We intend on chartering again with Captain Alex when we come back to Miami to show our friends and family a great time.
Arron Campbell: Captain Alex and his crew were amazing! This was my second attempt at diving, and a successful one due to the crew. My first dive experience I only made it 3-5 feet, this time I made it down to the bottom and stayed under for over an hour. Dill Elizer: Amazing time chartering the 45 foot yacht for my girlfriend’s birthday! The captain and crew were very accommodating and thought of everything! The accommodations were amazing, the ride was smooth and the boat was clean and nice with 2 staterooms and a huge kitchen. The bridge atop the boat served as a perfect place for tanning and we even got to jump off the bridge into the water! Cliff jumping in miami beach, it can happen here! Enjoyed staying at the sand bar in marine stadium and partying !
