Kendall Book Exchange: what do users think?

elle B: been to this place twice and both times were awesome experiences! the owner and volunteers are incredibly nice and super helpful. i recently brought in a load of books with my family and we got about 100 dollars in credit which is crazy! love the idea of exchanging books so much. planning another trip soon!

Lourdes Mendoza: Excellent experience. Great service! Good selection. Love the initiative, and the Tea selection as well.
Response: Thanks for the great review! We are always trying to make the book store experience better!

Matt Von Zimmerman: Had an enjoyable time browsing their selection of used books and adjacent tea store. The owner has an interesting story and is passionate about her craft. Rewards for first timers and for exchanging books. In turn I have become a regular here.

M. E. Emmanuelle Elie: Found this place 2 days ago, have been back 2 days in a row! A welcoming, carefully craddled treasure West Kendall definitely needed! If you love to read, need fresh eggs, tea or medicinal herbs this is the place! Plus the lady (the owner probably) at the counter is friendly, helpful and respectful. Children can come in and pick books, I personally went with my 7 year old, an avid reader, and he loved it! Tired of Barnes and Nobles? Want classic books? Second hand love? This is the place. We as a community needed this.

Marjo Rkz: What a find!!!! Being a bookworm myself, now a mom of little bookworms I fell absolutely in love with this place. It was so cool to have my little ones get so excited about their new-old book finds- we ended up taking all of their RL Stine books, getting a great discount on top of how amazing the prices already were, and chatting with the owners who were so friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Not only did we get great books, I also got really helpful knowledge from the owners regarding natural and holistic remedies. Oh, and the aromas from their teas, yom- makes you want to curl up in a comfy chair, with a book, and cup of tea. Thank you so much, we had a wonderful time!

Horacio Sierra: The owner is rude, gruff, and painfully monolingual. After a customer asked for some herbs in Spanish and said she couldn’t speak English, the owner called her husband on the phone to translate. After the woman purchased her herbs, the owner commented aloud to the entire store that she didn’t know how anyone could go through life not speaking English. First of all, the customer could have been a tourist. Second of all, this is Miami, where Spanish is widely spoken by Hispanics and non-Hispanics alike. Think of Miami as a Hispanic version of Quebec. No feel-good or New Age vibes are to be found in this store that sells herbs, oils, and roots in addition to used books. It’s a shame. This used to be my go-to for used books. I’ll go elsewhere from now on.
Response: Mr. Sierra, our store has been a staple in this community for over 15 years. I'm sorry you did not enjoy your time in our wonderful store that has provided and given back to this community for many years, which includes our very large Spanish speaking community. We have built wonderful friendships with all of our customers and if you were actually a regular you would see that we treat our customers like family ALWAYS. With that being said - Yes. Since I struggle with Spanish I immediately called my husband to assist. Would you had prefer me not to have done that and assist our customer?? But what you said above is a complete lie. I did not say I don't know how someone could go through life without speaking English. What I said word for word to one of my LONG STANDING customers was it must be hard for her not speaking English at all. I was sympathizing with her! So while you're on here trashing my business, let's try getting the facts straight. Shame on you for insinuating that I was insulting my customer and going online to trash a local, small, family owned business, especially during these difficult times we are seeing. If you had an issue with something you took out of context, why not address it in person? I guess that's just old school mentality.

PTAR: Great place to get your herbs and you read on

Sweet Haven Books: what do users think?

Victor Flores: Definitely worth the drive and support. This mom and pop bookstore is exactly the type of establishment we need in Miami. A perfect collection of new books, old books, collectors editions, books for all ages and interests, even Latin/Hispanic/Spanish works of literature. One of the best book stores in Miami hands down. Come show Sweet Haven books some well deserved love.
Response: Thank you so much for the review and beautiful pictures of our little bookstore! We aim to make everyone that walks in through our door feel at home 😀 come back soon!

Julia Diaz: This is a lovely little bookstore. The selection of books is perfect. Some new releases and best sellers, history, biography, self help, children’s literature and more. Every thing was organized beautifully. Every book gets a bookmark and they are tied up with twine. Such a nice touch. I love supporting local bookstores. This town is lucky to have Sweet Haven Books. Please drop by and keep independent bookstores alive.
Response: Thank you, Julia! We are so glad you have been enjoying our selection and small touches we like to add we look forward to many more visits!

Patricia Alejandro: Had a lovely time exploring this bookstore. The owners are helpful and friendly, and have created a wonderful space for leisurely reading and taking books home. They also have a selection of antique books for browsing. Love the blind date with a book idea. They already have multiple events taking place, even though this place just opened up a few months ago. They also have board games and sitting outside.
Response: Thank you so much for visiting our store and for the lovely review! We hope to see you here for our open mic night!

Miss Viirs3: This is the best bookstore I have ever been too! So much knowledge! Wonderful family who owns it! You feel right at home when you enter! Truly beautiful, so inspiring, lovely events, great energy! Always looking forward to spending time there with great people and great books!
Response: We love you Viirs! So glad to have you as our neigbor, and always, always a pleasure to have you come by!

Kathia Rodriguez: I love the place. The book store is really nice and it has this comfortable hommy ambiance! I met the owners and they are really nice. They have this open mike night on the first Saturday of the month and that was fun, I sang in public for the first time!!! I had a blast and enjoy the bookstore!!!!
Response: We are so glad you were able to make it out to our open mic and that you performed! We hope to see much more of you around here!

Lisette Alba: I love visiting Sweet Haven Books! Patty and Jesus are the most welcoming and kindest shop owners! Their bookstore is a hidden gem at Cauley Square. My daughters love going there to spend time reading or drawing in the kids room or playing games on the deck. You can make an outing from just visiting the store, chatting with the owners, reading a book, and getting a sweet treat!
Response: Thank you for your kind review! We love having you guys over, always a good time 😊

Carla Cordoves: Beautiful vintage bookstore with diverse reading nooks for adults and children alike. Come support! They have a vast array of books - modern and old.
Response: Thank you so much for coming by and for the lovely review ❤️ Hope to see you again soon!

Canes Diablo: Great selection of historical books, classics, a little bit of every genre. They have a kids section and another for teens with a pacman and mortal kombat old school arcade. Owners are real friendly and the dog is always there to greet. Feels homey!

Your Helpful Wendy: This will probably be my go to place from now on when I want to relax, have a good time, and get positive energy. Located inside the Cawley Square this is not a typical bookstore, their decoration is simply outstanding and the welcoming service of the owners is simply amazing! I cannot wait to go to their events or simply sit down have coffee and work on my computer there because the vibe it’s what I want, love, and eat.
Response: Than you , Wendy! This is exactly why we created this space and are so happy to know that you feel so at home in our little bookshop :) Coffee on the house next time, just mention the google review!

Maria Llorens: Always pick up some quality vintage finds here for a great price. Very cute clothes, jewelry, housewares, and used books in great condition.

Arlyn Stebenne: My favorite vintage store EVER. Great curation of home goods, clothing, jewelry and so many books! I especially have been loving the vintage photographs lately, a bunch have ended up on my walls. So fun to flip through. Also they have the coolest bathroom. I really enjoy shopping here!

Joan Santistevan: Super cool vintage shop! They have a great selection of clothing, accessories, books, housewares, and other unique vintage items. Definitely will return.

Mireya Alfonso: Great vintage shop in North Miami! Excellent selection of books, dvds, vhs, housewares, art and other vintage collectibles - highly recommend checking this shop out

Monika Bandi: Very cute store with a fantastic selection of vintage items! I particularly loved the t-shirt collection -- very fun and quirky items.

rap79: Great vintage shop in the heart of North Miami. Dope curated selection of books, clothes, art and more. The owner Christina is mad cool and has definitely created a unique vibe. Plus there is an award winning record store in the same plaza.

Mario Flores: Super cool shop with a great selection of vintage items. Books, records, jewelry, housewares so much stuff. I love the vibe in this beautiful shop.

Brittany Barney: Love this shop! They have the most unique collection of vintage items and the customer service is always amazing!

Jerry Bokser: Nice assortment of nautical themed finds. Helpful and friendly staff.

Eilyn xo: Amazing expirience, the employee is such a great person and really made My boyfriend and I feel comfortable. He told us every history of any piece we asked for. I bought something just because i felt like we were wasting his time if we didnt ONLY BECAUSE he took his time to explain in detail the history of miami and the history of everything we asked about. I definitely recommend this place if you want to spend a weekend doing something different and interesting. I will be returning for sure.

James Sweet: This is a great place to shop for antiques and props. Most of the items that they offer for sale are ship or marine related, however, they have a little bit of everything, patient explorers will be rewarded with all sorts of interesting finds. This place has to be seen to be believed!

Christina Land: So many hidden Jems here I’ve bought from my house I love the store!

MiMi Nicole: What a gem! I found this place by happenstance driving and pull over to see what it was all about. The place is full of relics and antiques, over one million items to be exact. I really enjoyed my brief walkthrough, but I’ll surely be back soon!

Victor Terron: Best antique place for everything cool!!! Must see destination. Great prices helpful staff.

Antique Mall Y'All: what do users think?

Lydia Fernandez: I’ve been coming here for over 10 years. There is such a variety of merchandise from so many vendors. Something for everyone and every budget. I’m actually thrilled that they provide secure lockers for our purses. It leaves my hands free to pick up some of the amazing things they have. The space is tight in some spots and I would not want to accidentally break something because my purse hit it. Regarding the lockers being old - well it is an antique mall y’all. Lol!!

Jefflania Jiffy: I’ve been coming to Antique Mall Y’all for well over a decade. I’m pretty surprised to see reviews of people who feel sensitive about having to lock up their bags in the lockers up front. Lockers that have their own padlocks and a key that you can hold onto. A place to put your bag to probably not only help out with loss prevention (which is totally valid), but some spaces are really tight and it’s easy to knock things over. These lockers have been policy since I can remember. Anyways, I’m a huge antique/thrift buff. If I see an antique store anywhere, I’m going in. Antique Mall Y’all is my absolute favorite place to get lost in. I have collected so many beautiful pieces for prices within my budget throughout the years. The ladies there are very kind and helpful.

Wilma F: This is a great shop.I bought a lot of nice thingswith gentle and kind staffs.
Response: Thanks so much for stopping by and your very kind review. We hope to see you again soon.

Crystal Smith: Been to a lot of antique stores over the years and never had to lock up my purse. This one makes you lock your purse to shop.

Christina: My family and I spent a lovely Sunday afternoon looking at all their treasures. We found some amazing pieces. The customer service was very welcoming even with my daughter who’s 6 and wanted to touch everything. I highly recommend this store to anyone who collects. We can’t wait to go back!
Response: Thanks so much for your kind words. We love children to come with their parents and learn about antiques and their history. I look forward to seeing you again.

lone ranger: I was there yesterday, great time. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I looked at quite a few items in locked cases as I always do in antique stores. The folks there were helpful, went into detail on the items when they knew about them. When I left they helped me to my car with my purchases. Every time I stop by there are great sales and new merchandise, you can never see it all.
Response: Thanks so much for the great review. Stop back soon.

Ron Slattery: Ladies beware. They force you to put up your purse in some nasty lockers before you can shop in the store. They want to take possession of your purse. They claim everyone does it. NOPE. We travel across the USA buying antiques and have seen this at only a couple of places. They treat everyone like thieves. They’re not nice about it either. You will be confronted upon entering the store and told to lock up your purse. Hostile environment. Not welcoming. Avoid. Take your money where you’re treated with respect. Not here.
Response: I'm sorry that our convenience lockers were offensive to you. As we explained, we have used the lockers for over 20 years. As a mall, we try to conserve the merchandise offered by our dealers. Breakage is a serious issue in some of our tight spaces. When we mentioned that everyone does it we were referring to all of our customers. Not every store. However, we can not take credit for the lockers, it's a concept we learned from other malls in Florida and in other states. Our lockers are located in the front of the store for convenience as well as our check out counter as a convenience to our shoppers. I'm sorry you did not enjoy your visit as most of our customers tell us they appreciate the convenience of our lockers. Hands free shopping without a heavy purse. Have a Happy New Year.

TASCHEN Store Miami: what do users think?

Eric Franz: One of the best coffee table books companies with their own store. Excelent for last min gifts or just some beautiful book for yourself.

philippe gabulon: Very beautiful and elegant shop with a great selection of Taschen art books. The shop is simply set with a good selection of rather large art books. You will also find ultra large and luxury books. At the end of the shop, opposit tpo the street side there is also a collectio of art works on display and for sale. The people of the shop are very nice too. We had te books we bought sent to New York for a sensible fee.

Gabby J: Stunning book store, I loved the artistic layout of the space. We were able to get our book signed by the legend himself Cristo. Everyone at the signing was very helpful and welcoming. The event was wonderful!
Response: Glad to hear, Gabby! Many thanks for the positive review. Hope you’ll come visit us again soon!

El Farto: Just lost 1:30hs of my time browsing the stuff inside this store, i wanted to buy everything... the attendants were very nice and answered all my questions, pay attention to the exquisite decor inside.

Nicholas Redding: Sandra was beyond helpful with us. She was very attentive and super kind. Amazing customer service experience. The store had so much variety and there is definitely a book for everyone. A must visit.

carlos camps: Flagship store of the iconic German publishing company. Taschen is a company with more than 40 years of experience on publishing books that are authentic jewels. The title selection, the cured content and the production transpire quality and attention to the detail. Definitely worth spending time!

Filip Berdek: the only bookstore left in south beach! i love this location and the staff is very helpful. the store manager is always extremely friendly and helpful.

Leifur Björnsson: I’ve visited the store on a few occasions when passing through South Beach for work. The staff is always super friendly and the selection is great. I normally only get a few small things since I can’t really be carrying heavy books around.

Troy Atlantic: Great Bookstore, however they could dedicated more space to books and stock books than the cafe that dominates the bookstore. But all together, that said, still one of the best for art & design books. Also please get some rare fashion periodicals, the fashion students next door could really use them.

Paul Gormley: Great location for dinner and a show at the Arsht Center but, as expected, a little pricey. Good portions, solid preparation and service, cool venue for a meal.

shawn beightol (allllchemist): Great bartender very helpful. Great place to hang out before show. Prices were reasonable. Very classy clientele.
Response: Thank you for your very kind words. See you soon...

Winston Fletcher: Small Book Shop and Cafe. Personal service. Perfect spot to just chill and share. Good for young adults and mature persons.

Sundaram LS: Went there for a coffee evening. Great place in the middle of downtown to sit and relax

Ronnie M.: Was not very happy with the service but the food was good

Matthew Doyle: Amazing food and great drinks.

Ga Go: Always a delight to see a bookstore and that not all of them have died out. It is a smalller version of their other bookstores but still offering a variety of books to explore for all ages.

Matt DiNuzzo: Good book store with a wide selection of new books. The displays were organized and had 2 floors. Glad to stop in and get a book for the trip back!

Lorena Be: I love this book store. I always look forward to visiting this store when heading to Coconut Grove. My favorite book store in Miami. Video on location is up on below social media. IG: FoodieFortLauderdale TIKTOK: FoodieFortLauderdale YOUTUBE: FoodieFortLauderdale
Response: Thank you so much for this. We hope to see again soon!!

Ariel W.: Mitchell Kaplan founded Books & Books in 1982 in a 500 sq ft space in Coral Gables when he realized that he loved books more than going to law school. Somehow this independent book seller has managed to stay in business in a time when most books are bought online. One of the ways they have stayed relevant is by hosting over 60 author events every month. You can check their website for the online calendar listing all of the events. Books & Books also sponsors one of my favorite events every November, the Miami Book Fair, where 300 hundred authors converge on the Wolfson Campus of Miami Dade College for a week of one of a kind literary events. The fair was started in 1984 by Miami-Dade College Wolfson Campus President, Eduardo J. Padrón and Mitchell Kaplan in partnership with the Miami library system. Many famous people, artists, athletes, politicians, and celebrities have come to Miami to speak about their books at the fair. It is now the largest literary festival in the country. I was wandering Coconut Grove when I spotted this branch of the Book & Books store. Books & Books has now expanded to seven locations including this one in Coconut Grove that opened in 2019. Unlike ordering online, here you can grab some wine or coffee and light bites from the small cafe while you peruse the books. There is something magical about visiting a bookstore and getting that personal touch like talking to a friendly staff member and asking for a recommendation. It is so great that there is still a place where you can be around other bibliophiles. Bookstores just make me happy. Please consider supporting this wonderful local business that brings so much to our community.

Christel G: They had the book I was looking for! 🙌🏽 This is a great bookstore. Quaint and comfortable with friendly booksellers ready to give you the lay of the land. Will definitely be back!
Response: Thank you for taking the time to write! We welcome you back...

Edie: It’s a cute book store but I’m not sure what anyone is talking about with food and coffee. I just went in there and the desk person opened the store late so I waited and when she let me in she had no idea what I was talking about and said there’s only ever been a couple of cold drinks… even though there’s a menu ??
Response: Edie, I'm so sorry about coming to our Grove store expecting food and coffee. When we opened two years ago, we did offer that, but during Covid we discontinued it. Our Gables location still has a very active cafe with really good food and desserts, as well as beer and wine and coffee and espresso. I hope you get a chance to check it out. Again, I'm so sorry to have let you down...

Johanna Sensique: Amazing book store many choices and really helpful I really loved going there to find a new book during my vacation
Response: Thank you so much for this!! Hope to see you next time. Happy holidays!!

Mike Wilson: What a lovely little bookshop in the Grove. Definitely visit!!

Matt Brown: Really special book store with a wonderful atmosphere, extremely well-curated selection of books and an enthusiastic, well-informed staff. The cafe/garden is lovely as well. A must for any book store enthusiast.
Response: Matt, thank you for your kind words! Looking forward to seeing you in the store...

L Sanchez: This bookstore is a gem for all readers. Exceptional place for all ages. I have gone to many bookstores ,and it’s an in and out situation. The setting outdoor is very inviting . And the ambiance inside is so chill you end up wanting to stay. The staff is so friendly and attentive. I definitely recommend.
Response: Wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to write this. Looking forward to seeing you next time!!

Personal Account: Hands down the BEST bookstore in Miami. Everyone that works there is thoughtful, patient and passionate about books! The architecture and indoor patio are beautiful. Their bar area is peaceful. And their cafe is yummy. It’s an experience as much as it is a retailer. HIGHLY recommend 😊

Quinton Lawton: Good atmosphere if you love browsing for books or just want a place to hang out. Happy hour is great; highly recommend the hummus as a nice snack. Employees are attentive. Overall just a great place to spend a few hours. I visit at least 2 or 3 times a month and always find something new to keep myself entertained!

Enrique J. Lopez: Books & Books will always be Books & Books. The true bookstore feeling without the flash that others attempt to incorporate into their bookstore. Quaint, quiet and enjoyable. Pleasant and helpful, but not intrusive staff. Always an enjoyable visit. Excellent location and access. Enjoy!!
Response: Thank you, Enrique! This means a lot to all of us!!

Diana Briceno: Such a cute little bookstore! I found some amazing new reads and enjoyed some coffee in their outdoor area. I wish there were more book stores like this 😍

Old Florida Book Shop: what do users think?

Manuel Hernandez (Manny): It’s a fascinating place. Fun to navigate and the owner is very willing to help. The only challenge, and it’s no small thing, is that the vast majority of titles require you to climb up on a ladder to reach it wait until they can fetch them for you, because it’s a vertical book shop.

Michael Connor: FLORIDA BOOK LOVERS, a little bit of heaven lays beside a storefront church in south Broward County: a seriously curated and welcoming second-hand book shop with glass-door cabinets and open shelves that climb to the skies. Old Florida is not about mass-market paperbacks, but does keep a few shelves of James Patterson hardcovers on a bargain rack. Many titles come from all over the world, and I was tempted during my first five minutes inside by French novels, a biography of Henry Adams, and an Oxford University press book on giants of mid-20th century writing who were heavily Irish born. Judging by the clerk working at a photo station, Old Florida does a serious Internet business. But the distinctive pleasures here are tactile and wonderfully analog.

Pam Stuart: Interesting book store! Amazing collections along with current publishing. Friendly helpful staff

Alicia Addison: Absolutely love this place!! Small book store but very fascinating. Vast collection of books and the older gentleman there is very knowledgeable about his work

Monique Pfeffer: Genuinely the best book store ive found in years. Prices are very reasonable the workers are nice an helpful but also let you browse at your comfort. The selection itself of books is the best part. Almost 100% guarantee youll find somthing you like in there in your price range every time. Ive expanded on several of my collections thanks to this place

Haley Goff: This place is a hidden gem and is a must visit if you come to Ft. Lauderdale. Swing in and grab a book to read on the beach after you land! You won’t regret visiting!

Sarah Bermudez: a huge Selection of beautiful items, each thing is in great condition and authentic. every time i go i find something new to love. The staff is super helpful and kind!

Xiomarita: Amazing store. The workers there really know their stuff. I bought a few things for a very good price too! I highly recommend this place. I will definitely come here again.

Leidy Calderon: The two gentleman there were very informative and super friendly! The vibes were also very positive. Definitely going to visit again!

Alex Hernandez: This shop is a gem! The owners are so kind, knowledgeable about their collectibles and friendly! The store has a true family feel. I always feel welcome there and love conversing with the owners. I have purchased several items there and return frequently as they often have new little treasures :)

Brandi Givens: I had an excellent experience working with the owner Ito and his employees. Ito offered to consign a very unique piece of furniture that was passed down to me. I wasn’t sure it would sell, but he and his employees were persistent and were able to find a buyer. He was extremely fair with his percentage and worked with me to find a fair selling price. I highly recommend visiting the store as it has some 1 of a kind pieces and he has neat rental pieces available as well.

Alfy Flores: Awesome antique shop in Miami! The shop has really cool items and the owner is tremendously helpful and is very knowledgeable. He took the time to explain his sports memorabilia collection. I will definitely be swinging by frequently. Highly recommend checking them out!

Max Melo: amazing store!! owner was very friendly and very knowledgeable. They have a very large inventory - there is definitely something for everybody here. The prices are very fair and not at all exorbitant. I had a great experience, and I’ll definitely be coming back!

A & M Comics & Books: what do users think?

Shawn Perkins: Came in after a store I’ve been going to for my new releases didn’t have the variant covers I wanted. A&M had them. I got those and cruised through the IMMENSE section of Back issues, which I’m a huge fan of. I found issues I’ve been needing to fill the gap in my collection. Prices were great and I stocked up. Plenty of cool toys, and plenty of cool stuff to check out and pick up for any ones collection. The staff was very helpful and I will most certainly be returning for more comics.
Response: Thank you, we really appreciate customers like you. People like you are always welcomed!

Ronald Narvaez: First time going after all these years driving by there; always wanted to check it out. They had lots of old school comics which I love. If your looking for classic comics, then come check this place; you may be surprise, it’s like finding a treasure item you probably been looking for; I will definitely check it out again. It is one of the oldest comic shop in Miami; so bare with that, I’m coming back soon again definitely,, very friendly service as well.

Aidan Murphy: I travel all over looking at comic stores, and this was THE COOLEST ONE. Reviews were saying how messy it was, but that’s part of its charm, it feels like a comic store. The employees were super helpful, and the prices were good. Definitely recommend. It deserves the title of best comic shop in Florida.
Response: Thank you so much, it's refreshing to hear from real comic collectors. You are the reason we are here!!

michael schwager: Took my daughter to pick up her first comic book! What an experience. Great selection and the owner was an expert in helping us discover her first comics. Highly recommend this place. We will definitely be back.

Jake Ramsdell: Came in and no one greeted us. When we asked where something was the owner just pointed across the store. The place was like living in a hoarders house. There was trash everywhere and very cluttered. Lizards ran amuck in the store. One of the owners killed a lizard while we were in the store. I am suprised this place is still in business. Edit: I read the owners responses and each one is very childish. He can not own up to the fact that his store is messy.
Response: Sorry you feel that way "jake". But your unintelligible review speaks volumes about you. Cluttered to "you" means well stocked to others. Unfortunately you can't please everyone. We pride ourselves on our customer service. And will continue servicing the South Florida comic community!! I wish you well. Nice editing of previous review.

Victor Novillo: The best comic book shop i’ve ever had the pleasure of going to, the owner is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, the store is FULL, floor to ceiling, with comics, books, and collectables, 5/5 i go there weekly to add to my collection.

Jonathan DelaRocha: They have a lot of cool stuff...but a lot of it seems overpriced. Everyone knows about the terrible clutter in this place. Some people like it, some people absolutely hate it. As for me, I can’t imagine why any business owner would want to present any product in this unsightly manner. The customer service is absolutely terrible. I don’t know what it takes for one of those people working there to say hello when you walk in. I’ve been twice so far cause I actually enjoy digging through their stock, but the first time I went, one of the people working there was yelling over the phone about how they’re losing money. Then, after that, he just sat down on a chair and started watching a show on a tv he placed on a pile of books that was on top of the comic bins. Very awkward. The second time I went, the man wasn’t there but I still felt awkward in the store. You have to be mindful of how much you’re deciding to pay for whatever book you buy because they’ll mark up prices just because it’s a popular character but completely disregard the quality and condition of the book. Nevertheless, they still have a lot of cool things you can find in the midst of the madness. They also have some cool stuff from Japan. I like going there to buy gundam. They have a cool little selection. Beats having to drive all the way to Tate’s.

Libreri Mapou Creole & French: what do users think?

Herve Glaude: My new addition to my library 😊

Mariah Ray: The worse experience ever the owner Jan Mapou was rude to me and my sister. We heard about this book store from our father, who used to buy books there very often. He was disgustingly rude to us and we were very shock. I do not recommend any of my friends or family members to his book store.

Mikey Moonflower: I only come here for the cremas. Absolutely delicious highly recommend.

Sporcut Chris: Libreri Mapou is a bookstore, library, and cultural center all in one. Jan Mapou, the owner, stocks a large selection of books in Kreyol, French, and English. The store has a large area out back where there are dance practices and performances, meetings, poetry readings, and other gatherings.

Reimsky Toussaint: Libreri Mapou is a pillar of the Haitian heritage not only in Little Haiti but in the Miami metropolitan area in general. You will find books to learn Creole, books in Creole or French, dictionaries, artwork and cultural clothing from or about Haiti, and more!

joubert camille: This place is a great place over there and also many people come to buy a book inside only but, u not come to buy a book outside and also u can find it differently store or either wise u can buy it online as well

Juvens Dorcely: I love this library and the owner is a great person

MDC Wolfson Bookstore: what do users think?

Nicanor Ramos Ullola: Customer service. And presentation. When I went in, the first time, I was very lost, bought some stuff… but especially I was upset about the area. Then, I can back a second time and felt insulted… I was asked to take a picture that had no barcode on it. The third time, I was given attitude. And had to constantly wait for a task that could have been achieved, with ease, if the service had be with a proper greeting. Proper. Fix your signs! Also, the male representative. Opened my mail in front of me.

Kalvin Ledbetter: Very difficult to reach and staff not very knowledgeable about products or procedures. They look for any way to get off the phone with you so they don’t have to do anything. Surprisingly unhelpful to students. I was very unhappy with my many attempts to obtain my books for classes. One week later I still haven’t received my books that I had ordered from Danny the supervisor in the bookstore that should not be working there. I called to try and track the books and was told they couldn’t locate the books and provided a tracking number to call ups. Upon speaking to a representative and finally finding out that he put the wrong address down for the shipment. I’m very discouraged by the unprofessional behavior of this staff and they aren’t even staff of MDC and use that to continue to do poorly. They need revised by MDC. This is unacceptable and discouraging for new and future students.

April Mendoza: This bookstore is the best! They have a wide selection of books which is impressive. Great atmosphere and super friendly and knowledgeable staff. I love going up to the staff and asking their opinions about novels I am thinking about picking up because they always seem to have the best suggestions. My go to place for some quiet time and a good read.

Robert Perez: I don’t get why it’s so hard to send purchased items to the correct address. 3 semesters in a row at least one of my access codes were shipped elsewhere. I received others packages and had to reach out to them personally to make sure they got their codes. Reached out to the email provided and they’ve yet to get back to and it’s been 2 weeks. I called and no one knows anything. Pathetic and Unacceptable. Figure it out

Joseth Byfield: Well, I love to read especially about history and both the World Wars. Since I cannot afford to purchase all the books on the subject I go there to read them. So far they allow me to do so without complaining. They are very gracious about it too.

Vubur: Price - Everything is overpriced. Service- Store is inadequately staffed resulting in long lines and overall poor customer service. Quality- The quality of the products offered is average, but for the price below average. Higher prices for average quality products with no perks. Online- If you place an order online they take between one to two weeks to fulfill the order. Although, the items are right inside the store and you could just walk in and buy them. Overall- With everything taken into consideration, avoid this store, only but what you must.

Alberto Wilson: Really nice store with lots of book varieties for a reader like me. I would recommend other readers for sure. Staff is helpful and friendly too.

Nick Greenquist: Not a real bookstore (or maybe bc Covid). Only textbooks for college students. Fewer normal books than a Publix

Barnes & Noble: what do users think?

Kelly Kelly: Imagine an amazing two floors library with lots of variety for everyone. The first thing you see once you enter are the stairs and all the alleys calling you to explore them. I came to look for something but I found more than I expected, even more suggestions of books I’ll definitely like to read in the future. What a great cozy place to learn, imagine, discover!!! If I could I’d go everyday!, I highly recommend it. This is the biggest Barnes and Nobles I’ve seen so far in Miami.

minerva aponte_jolly: Barnes and Nobles has always been magical to me and though the stuffy chairs are removed and it has become less of a hanging out place, one can still find a million magical and informative books. The staff is polite and helps you find and/or order books. Prices are reasonable on just-out books with many inexpensive soft cover editions of traditional best sellers . It is also filled with marvelous gifts for either goofy or nerd, friend- or anyone in-between. And the cafeteria in there does not harass you when you sit around forever doing homework or just reading.

Ned Djokic: One of the last of a dying breed of bookstores…this is a well stocked, nicely laid out bookstore that is located in the heart of Kendall. Starbucks and nice seating areas located inside as well.

Eileen Razuri: As a work from home mom I have the convenience to work anywhere. I brought my 4 yr old son here to read some books and brought my laptop to work and sat in the childrens book side on a table ans manager came while I was on a call with a patient. (I’m a nurse) and she was rude she knew I was on a call ans continued to talk over my call. She could have waited. She was a short wavy blonde hair girl. She told me to sit in the cafe area where it was more comfortable. But I sat in the kids section because I was with my kids. She asked if I moved the table I said no. There was another mother sitting at the same table ans told her because of “covid” we couldn’t sit together. Clearly there are no signs nor a sign at the front door of social distancing. Manager was very rude. Had no etiquette no respect. On top of that kids section was a mess and stuff on the floor. Not clean at all. If they are so worries about covid then I think they should start sanitizing the kids table ans floors. An area where kids play around sit on the floor etc.

Jessica Holcomb: I’ve visited this location twice and both times while being checked out, the cashier would ask if I have a rewards card. I would reply no, no one would offer or explain the program. Not sure if they just expect me to know what the program is but if they make assumptions.

Sophia Perez: I have never been more disrespected by anyone in my life besides my mom than when I went into the Barnes n noble on 88th st. The manager a young lady with black hair is extremely disrespectful and spiteful and the head manager is also extremely helpless I made a complaint about her and he wasn’t even listening. If I had a customer complain about being disrespected by an employee They would’ve been gone no questions asked but obv no one cares about customer service anymore

Barnes & Noble: what do users think?

Eduardo Ulloa: Cool place Luis was very helpful , took 4 books home with me and ordered one .

Daniela RI: I grew up going to this bookstore and spending hours there, and yes I bought books. Recently came in for the first time in a while and was reading a bit. I was told by a polite employee that it is not allowed to sit on the floor except in cafe. Then I noticed they removed all the chairs including by the magazines. I get you want people to pay for the books, but that is just an awful way to treat customers. In a time where I can buy pretty much any book for two thirds of the list price online, I come to bookstores to peruse and help me choose. What are you really gaining from such a short sighted policy? What are you losing? You keep away young readers who maybe can’t afford every book and just want to hang and read, and who will grow to be educated adults who later buy books. Last time I’m stepping foot in that place. I feel terrible for the employees that have to enforce this policy.

PharticusMaximus: This is the best book store left. They have a huge Selection of books of every genre. You can sit and read books while you shop. The have a ton of mangas, loads of collectibles, funko pops, card game packs, board games, a big kids area full of books and fun. They also have one of the best magazine racks in town too. If you like books, cards games, and board games, you must visit this awesome bookstore.

Sergio Delfanti: Huge display of books and travel guides. From cooking to philosophy, from science to fiction for kids and for adults , some are real bagains. I always come out with some books or magazines in a B&N bag. But if you are a tourist (like me) take in account weight and volume in your travel luggage ! But enjoying a reading stop at the cafeteria is a plus.
